Looking for ozbot and jkemble, two long-time posters who've been absent.
BigDuke logs in, but doesn't apparently have much to say. I see some of our other members logged in occasionally; I am speaking of our very-low-post total guys and gals. Come on, share a little nugget of information or at least an opinion with us!

I wonder if one of the best things about this site actually works AGAINST us in regards to getting new readers- the atmosphere.
Because the site is so light and friendly, is it possible that newcomers are intimidated by an environment where everyone already knows each other? Like a new kid coming into not a school, but a gang of friends?

I've thought that too. Fiero84's been gone for a few weeks, too. I wonder how newer posters feel about it. I mean, really, when they see just how nice you are, Doom, with those 107 exalts of love, it's got to be a little intimidating !!

my magnificent countinence I assumed he meant continents, for he could be considered as residing both in Europe and Eurasia.

We haven't had one of these in awhile:
imperiousrex (yeah, we know you deleted you account, but if you're still out there lurking, do all of us a favor and come back, won't you?)
Nutcase65 -- where ya been, dude? Hope the health's OK...
bobc -- made a brief reappearance over the summer and then *poof!* Gone again!
Ultron -- I saw it was his birthday recently...
jkemble -- still no cosmic frog sightings.
fiero84 -- from active to GONE!
ozbot -- still waiting...
BigDuke -- I've seen him around every now and then.
Yellowjacket -- lost in Germany waiting to be found.
Van Plexico -- our fearless, and all too little heard from, founder.

It's a disturbingly long list, and most of them where mainstays here... Van comes and goes depending on how much free time he has, but we know he will always be around (this is his place ^^), but there has been no trace of Ultron and YJ in weeks, perhaps months, and the same goes for the others. I wonder if it's only a problem of time, or if they decided they didn't like it around here anymore, like Rex...

That's a lot of hardcore Avengers fans missing. I'm sad to hear Rex closed down his account.

I still pop in now and again, but my time has been cut back a bit and I don't want to post with just "me toos." It's nice to be missed though.

I believe ozbot has been in the process of moving overseas, hence the absence.

Hey, someone noticed I'm gone.
I had to forcibly restrain myself from buying new comics over the last month and a half. As much as I love them and would gladly read ten comics a week if I could, the stupid things are absolutely devastating to my wallet.
To try and stop buying them I made a clean break from the forum and other sites for about a month. Now I'm easing back into things as a twice-a-year-TPB sort of buyer. I like to read about them, but I can't actually afford to read them.
I'll be lurking and occasionally posting while trying to enjoy comics without actually buying any.
What kind of world do I live in that a comic book costs four dollars? A world that doesn't properly value fun, that's what.

I'm with you, Engage. I only buy whatever I can find here and there for a buck or less. But I spend a lot of time reading about them -- kind of like those people who have pictures of lamborghini sports cars on their walls. I covet new comics, but it's just not worth it to buy them. For all the comics that I might enjoy buying monthly, I could just as well afford an annual vacation or even taking up tobacco use again.

Back I am! Sorry for the absence being longer than previously announced. The holiday went well, but once back I was left with little will to stay behind a pc, so spent little to no time online for an extra week. Anyway, back in action now!

There are some great posts popping up in the "Experiment #2" thread from some of our lower-total users. Thanks for helping us carpal-tunnel folks out with some explanations -- and we'd like to hear from you more!

For what it’s worth, I expect to be largely MIA for the next few weeks. Several things—including Halloween, Election Day, a vacation, Thanksgiving, and preparations for each of those—will conspire to keep me away. I assure you, however, that you will remain in my thoughts.
