Okay I know alot of people hate this team but I created this poll so that you can give your opinions on which character should leave the New Avengers or should the whole team disband.
Post your thoughts and opinions.

For me, they should either disband or regroup as the NEW Defenders...

Wolverine, if I had to be honest. Not that I don't like him, but he's just such an odd fit in ANY Avengers team. Granted, he fits in this one better than the previous team, but still . . .
The rest can stay and the comic can be renamed "Secret Avengers" or "New Defenders" or something more fitting.

I vote Dr. Strange. I like him when he's portrayed as "way out there," too far for normal reality. Even when the Avengers deal in other galaxies, and rarely alternate universes, they still rooted in our humdrum 3-dimensional world.
I like the New Defenders idea. I wonder why they didn't do that in the first place?
Wolverine doesn't bother me. I like the idea of reading about him without trying to figure out the last 15 years of X-book continuity.
I've never really had a problem with the membership of the team for the most part.

"They should disband" was my substitute for "All of the above", which wasn't a choice.

Ronin should leave the so-called New Avengers. This 'Ronin' identity for Clint Barton was one of BENDIS! worse ideas (and that says plenty). Clint should realize that he was out of his mind since A:D and become Hawkeye again. New Avengers as it is is bad enough, but with Clint as Ronin on this team only add insult to injury.

Clint is not going back to his Hawkeye persona, Kate Bishop of the Young Avengers is now Hawkeye.
Many old school fans say having Spider-Man a member of a team is not a good idea at all.

I voted that they should disband, although I'm perfectly fine with the team remaining functional if, as others have suggest they call themselves something else. Bendis enjoys disassembling Avengers team. I think it's time to do it again and then let them reassemble as New Defenders. The Avengers, long before the Initiative nonsense, have been a government sanctioned team. Even when Cap and Ironman reformed the group, they still had some government sanctions. This current group is only considered an Avengers group because they choose to call themselves that. They are no more real Avengers than the Great Lakes Team (Who I find far more entertaining.)

I had to vote for "disband" because several characters, IMO, do not belong in the Avengers - because of their nature. Wolverine, Spider-Man and Doc are all in this category. If Clint's going to be there, he should be there as Hawkeye.
The only reason this book sells is it has Wolverine and Spider-Man as members.

The only reason this book sells is it has Wolverine and Spider-Man as members. I doubt that's true. I'm sure it doesn't hurt sales any, but unfortunately BENDIS! has brainwashed younger readers into thinking he's a master storyteller... which he ain't. Har! Keelhaul the lubber!

I never had a huge problem with Spider-Man as a member at least for a short run, even though he's only here for the sales. Wolverine is also here for the sales, but is a totally wrong fit for the Avengers under any circumstances. The "Ronin" concept is one of the worst in New Avengers. First, the use of the padded Ronin man-suit to disguise Echo was utterly moronic, even for Bendis. Second the application of the Ronin suit to Hawkeye is simply Bendis wanting to salvage something of the idea and make it work, even if it doesn't and never will. The character Echo (aside from the mansuit idiocy) is a poor fit on a team. Bendis continually ignores the fact that it should be impossible for her to function in certain situations. For example, she's repeatedly shown as responding to sounds that the art shows she couldn't possibly see or lipread. OK, if you want to use a deaf character, fine. But don't then ignore the fact because you can't bother to take account of it in your writing. Dr. Strange is being treated as I predicted. He's being used as a plot device (mainly to hide the Avengers from registration) while being nerfed in whatever way is convenient to the story that Bendis is writing. The Sorceror Supreme is about the equal of Brother Voodoo when Bendis needs him to be, but will be all-powerful when Bendis needs a deus ex machina. Iron Fist -- Meh. If I have anything against him it's that Bendis apparently thinks it's fantastically cool and inventive to reunite Power Man and Iron Fist. Meh. Cage -- Same as above. Spider-Woman has been Bendis' favorite and I predict that she will be back with the team in fairly short order. I don't really have anything against (or for) the character. I will say that Bendis has done a poor job of developing and making me interested in the character. T&A alone (which is what Spider-Woman has been around for) just don't do that for me. Clint (in some guise other than "Ronin") is the only truly good choice here.

Doctor Strange is a difficult character for a talented writer, precisely because he is so powerful and his powers are so wide in scope. Bendis should never attempt him, not until he has a lot more experience and/or a transfusion of talent from somewhere.

They should disband because they're not even a team. They're just a bunch of people who hang out together.

It's hard for me to vote because about half these characters should go. Not that they are bad characters, but because they just don't fit. Wolverine, Dr Strange, and Spiderman should go. I could probably suffer Spiderman now that he has Clint to verbally fence with. But the Doc and Logan do not belong. If they were to add a "classic" Avenger or two (in addition to Clint) I think they could really go somewhere with the book. The storyline is interesting (even if it is a bit slow) but the characters just don't feel like a team to me. And while we have frequently had some kind of divisive force on the the team, it was usually an abnormality. Cohesive forces seem to be abnormal here.

They'll be working as a team in their next issue.
I'm suprised that no one voted for Spider-Man since he's been at the top of the list of fans I know who want him off.
But Joe.Q was asked if Spider-Man would ever leave the New Avengers and he said NO.

I'm suprised that no one voted for Spider-Man since he's been at the top of the list of fans I know who want him off. I sort of did. There wasn't a way to vote more than one off the team, and more than one needs to go. So I voted "disband." But Joe.Q was asked if Spider-Man would ever leave the New Avengers and he said NO. What Pirate Avenger said. This piece of crap wouldn't sell as birdcage liners if Spider and Wolverine weren't in it. Modern Marvel is *only* concerned with cash flow. Fan: But what about creativity? The future of the characters? JoeQ: Creativity? Bah. Characters? Bah. An EIC craves not these things.

There wasn't a way to vote more than one off the team, and more than one needs to go. So I voted "disband." Precisely. Actually, by my count, 9 of 12 (or 3/4) voters voted to get rid of Spidey along with the rest of the team. It's just that no one singled him out. Although, if I'm honest, Spidey being on a team doesn't bother nearly as much as most the presence of most of the team (Wolverine, Echo, Dr. Strange, Iron Fist, Clint as Ronin when he should be Hawkeye.) Basically, this is just a team comprised of most of my least favorite characters hanging out with my favorite (Spidey)

It's just too much. Wolverine would have been a great guest star working with the Avengers for 2 or 6 issues. Same with about any of them. Most the other bad inclusions would make it good if they were the only C-lister on the team. Remember when She-Hulk joined, she wasn't the star she has become since. But when the team is composed of nothing but these second rate heroes and non-Avengers, it's like a Marvel Team-Up annual that won't end.

Another problem I have with Clint as Ronin is... what is he doing running around with swords? Sure, you can say he was trained by the Swordsman. Though in the early Avengers issues showing this, it was always Swordsman with his sword and Clint with his bow. Now the real kicker is Swordsman used a broadsword. Ronin has duel Katanas. Broadsword and katanas are two completely different fighting styles, like boxing and judo. Using two swords instead of one is a whole new set of rules on top of that. I took fencing, using two swords when you're trained to use only one can get very confusing.

But when the team is composed of nothing but these second rate heroes and non-Avengers, it's like a Marvel Team-Up annual that won't end. Not only second-raters and non-Avengers, but poorly-written or mis-written second-raters and non-Avengers. Like the first iteration of NA, I am actually not opposed to many/most of these characters being Avengers. Iron Fist -- I'm not particularly opposed to Iron Fist as an Avenger. What I am opposed to is that the only rationale for making him an Avenger is "Bendis thinks a retro Power-Man/Iron Fist teamup is kewl." Cage -- See Iron Fist. I also don't think Cage is all that interesting a character. He's getting the spotlight so that Bendis can push his own prior "Alias" work. Dr. Strange -- Being used as a walking plot device. Echo -- Her deafness is ignored when convenient, which is often. Ronin/Clint -- Bendis wants to salvage something out of his idiotic Mansuit Ronin concept, so Clint gets to dress up like a Ninja and use katanas. Spider-Woman -- Bendis has been pushing her, but not effectively. Rather than make the character compelling, Bendis has made Spider-Woman largely a cheesecake character with little else to hold one's interest. Spider-Man--Here for the cash, but not a totally wrong fit. Wouldn't mind him as a reserve Avenger for short runs. Wolverine--Here for the cash. Period. Horrible fit for the Avengers. A lot of these characters could be made to work on an Avengers team if competently written. The only ones I would absolutely kick off without a second thought are Wolverine and Mansuit Ronin. Maybe that Super-Man clone too. RSC

You think there are any 10-year old kids out there saying to themselves
"Man-suit Ronin is my favorite super-hero!"?
In any case, the consensus seems to be that the team should disband. Let's look at it from the other end ... which character should stay when the real Avengers is re-formed?

Let's look at it from the other end ... which character should stay when the real Avengers is re-formed? Good question, but an easy answer. Clint should stay BUT only as Hawkeye. As much as I like the character in Young Avengers, she can find another name. Of course, if her previous problem choosing a name is any indication, she may not have one for a year or two, but the Hawkeye name belongs to one person and one person only.

I voted for a disband. This was a tired concept at the outset, just meant to give Avengers fans something to tide them over. Now they should resolve the registration crap. Go back to one Avengers team and we can all move on with our lives.

I won't mind the registration thing once it fades into the background. Registration/authorization has always been a part of the Marvel Universe, just never the center. Spidey got chased around by the cops and Cap didn't. It was just that way without a lot of brewhaha. I always kind of liked it being left vaguely defined, because reality, in this case, is a downer.
Once the fun of registration-centered stories fades away and the Initiative is less profitable, then we can all enjoy stories that combine establishment heroes with anti-establishment heroes willy nilly.
So what I'm saying is, once registration isn't the center of the marvel universe anymore, it won't define the stories so much, and we can get back to normal.
