It's amazing,.. no matter how old I get it always falls back to the base potty humor.

...Is it wrong that I enjoyed this completely insane thread more than New Avengers 27?

If you go to www.marvelcomics.com you will see that this question,.. which I'm sure is keeping us all up at night, will finally be answered in issue 30. You also see that the split story of NA vs. MA and NA vs. hand goes on to that point as well. I guess you could say it's sort of like a comparison thing. The fight a mighty team compared to them fighting infinite ninjas.

What about... the NEW ASSEMBLERS! ...Wait that's not right, we haven't had Assemblers Disassemblered yet. I vote Ultron returns from the dead and blows up half the forum taking Nutcase with him, then ua2 is ripped in half by an insane tananile before she's calmed, after which dlw sacrifices himself to defeat an invasion of Marvel-likers while screaming "NOT LIKE THIS!"

when you say he takes me with you, you mean like he takes me with him to the movies? or maybe the mall?

This reminds me of a story entitled "spin doctor kills everybody" written around the time of Heroes Reborn. It used to be hosted on Van's site but I cannot find it now. Let's just say that spin doctor, an Avengers Mailing List subscriber more than a decade ago, "cleaned out" Marvel's offices Punisher style, with a little help from Smilin' Stan himself. I wish I'd saved a copy... spin doctor was no fan of the Marvel of that era...

So, do we know by now who Ronin is already...? Or is the Brain Bender taking his characteristic sweet time to drop his revelation on us...?

no, I posted on another thread in this section , don't remember which. the Marvel home page says that it will be revealed in New Avengers #30
I still think it's hawkeye. I pick Van as my second runner up.

I have a guess who the new Ronin is...
SPOILER (Possibly)
I think it might be Jessica Jones, thus perpetuating the insanity of the man-suit. It also keeps one of Bendis' favorite characters around.

Well Tana, Wong could be watching the baby. My only question is would she and Luke risk both of them being captured and leaving the baby without a parent un-incarcerated? Worse, with that baby having two super-parents, the 'good' guys would probably take the baby into protective custody.
That being said, when you look at the page in #29 just before Brother DooDoo shows up, the NA are opening the box with the Ronin costume in it. Who all is standing there? All of them and Jessica with the baby.
I think Tana is right.

also, if Tana IS right, I think her detective skills merit an exalt. She will have been the first one to publicly crack the case.

This theory certainly fits Bendis' writing style. I shall be very interested to learn the answer (hopefully someone will post it, as that's the ONLY way I'll learn it!)

She will have been the first one to publicly crack the case. thanks Nutcase, but considering that she and Wong were the only other people around when they got the Ronin suit, I don't think it's that great a detective job! Although I suppose they could go find someone else to put it on. However I also think some dialogue from Ronin in previous issues makes sense for it to be Jessica. Plus the fact she is a Bendis creation. I guess time will tell...unfortunately time proceeds excrutiatingly slowly in NA!

Could it be that Bendis is trying to throw us a curve ball & that it actually is Wong & not Jessica...? With Wong's background in martial arts perhaps it would make more sense.... But then, as the Phantom says, why expect sense from Bendis...?

could be. We know that Wong is in the mansion, but he is NOT in the scene before they get teleported. Plus in the last issue whoever it is speake with more familiarity and wong is more formal.
You never can tell right now tho'

It cannot be Wong, since he doesn't know much about Doc Strange, and I don't THINK it's Jessica because Ronin has little chemistry with Cage and doesn't act remotely like Jessica.
My vote is still Clint Barton.

I notice you say you don't think it's her. Could Doom be leaving himself a little wiggle room? I really think Tana has it nailed. Whoever is in the suit HAD to be in the mansion when they teleported. If it's anyone else, it'll be too cheesy for words. Not that the company is above extra cheese.

Whereas it being ninja Luke Cage wife is of course not cheesy at all. I just don't think Ronin has anywhere near the chemistry with Cage.
PLUS if I recall correctly, Tom B put up preview pages from NA 30 or thereabouts on his blog and it clearly shows an unmasked male Ronin.

...I don't THINK it's Jessica because Ronin has little chemistry with Cage and doesn't act remotely like Jessica... Remember, Bendis isn't a good superhero writer [1]. The things you cite would be clues supporting your theory if he were, but he's not, so they don't mean much... [1] He's fine on noir and crime books, which is where he should stay.

Ultimate Spider-Man readers would beg to differ.
Now if you said he's not an exceptional TEAM BOOK writer, I'd agree with that.

Bendis dialogue. What´s up with it? What? Don´t tell me about it. Yeah, it´s supposed to be realistic.) would be irritating in any and every genre, including crime noir stories.

I would be very irritated as well if real people would insist on carrying that kind of "realistic" dialogue with me all the time... It feels more like a bunch of people with extreme cases of ADD...
