Right, DL. And I'm sure you'll agree that Cap was at his best when younger, brattier Avengers like Hawkeye were challenging him. Captain America met every challenge, and won everyone's respect, eventually. I also liked how some younger members looked up to him in awe, too--people like Firestar and Justice.
But I'll say one thing--I don't know who this frail, self-pitying imposter in NA is, but it ain't Captain America.

bobc, being a relic like myself, you'll remember a TV show called "Dallas". I was never a watcher, but I do recall they had an entire season of events, and at the end of the year one of the characters woke up and the previous nine months had all been a dream. Maybe that's what we're going through here... I think I'll go take a nap and hope for the best .

Funny thing is how every new-to-comics-BENDIS!-follower (they seem uncanningly to come together, almost always) thinks the sitcom-drivel a lá "Yep.","No.","Maybe....","But....","Yes!","Ok, but....","No!" is characterization, and today's page filled with talking heads is sophisticated characterization, compared to the old days, when, what you realise is that in the 60/70/80's characters were molded issue by issue, year after year, with careful craft, and true characterization. These days, most of them don't even survive six months, let alone call that characterization.
