Guys,
I wrote a review of NuVenger #14, and it had over 100 points of contention, and I specifically steered away from dialogue and the usual problems. These were all major points, with specific arguments drawn from specific comics (yes, I went through and got page numbers and whatnot and even scanned a few pages to illustrate my points).
Then something happened to my computer.
I am NOT going to write it all out again - in fact, I will never make another anti-BENDIS! post again.
But, guys, this is by far the worst issue of New Avengers to date and the worst issue of ANYTHING that Marvel has ever published (well, at least of the thousands and thousands of issues I've read).
Every single person associated with the production of this issue should be ashamed of themselves.
I actually ENCOURAGE you all to go and read it, just to see how abysmal it is. See, for example, the throw-away contradictions with the previous thirteen issues.
The other #13 have angered me, this has DISGUSTED me.
- Adrian
P.S. - before anyone thinks to criticise me for speaking like this, think on this: if you have backed-up pipes and you hire a plumber to fix them, and he doesn't do the job properly, anyone would say you have every right to complain.
Well, I paid my $6.00 for New Avengers #14 and expected that some minimum standards would be met - that at the very least, Andy Schmidt would run BENDIS!' script through a spell-checker - and EVERYTHING was below those minimum standards.
Lots of people criticise folks for saying a comic "isn't good enough", as though comics can contain whatever nuts the creator wants and that's that. Well... no. There ARE standards, even if they are sometimes unwritten, for EVERY industry. And the standards for the comics industry have not even been CONSIDERED in the production of NuVengers #14.
