Suzuki has issued a recall for 2 million vehicles worldwide. The recall includes a number of Chevrolet Cruze sedans that it built for GM that have a problem with the ignition switches that causes them to smoke. This particular recall will only affect vehicles that were sold in Japanese, European, and Australian markets.
The majority of the cars being recalled are from Suzuki’s home market, Japan (1,873 vehicles in all). That recall includes the Chevy Cruze, a few cars built for Mazda and several Suzukis models manufactured between 1998 and 2009. The recalls stem from 67 reported incidents all originating from Japan. Of the 67 incidents no injuries were reported.
