Okay, I have to say, the highlight is that great cover. And this issue I can forgive the "previously in..." page; there are a lot of characters in this on, and naming them right off the bat can only help readers that are as overwhelmed by this book as I am.
<Spoilers>
While this issue has action in the second half, the first 10 pages are all talk, and as with any Kang story, it's about alternate futures and pasts, and they've brought in a bunch of heroes and villains from divergent futures, blah, blah, blah....
I'm just not a fan of alternate reality stories, especially ones that go on and on and on....
I think I'm just burnt out with this storyline. I like the inclusion of lots of MU characters, but I'm having trouble with exactly which version of each hero/villain this is, and if this story will have any effect on the 616 MU.
And Acuna'a art is just OK with me. Not horrible, but not great.
I do like the colors....but the colorist is not credited (when did this start?, I can't remember seeing credits without a colorist mentioned.)
PLEASE....wrap this story up soon!
This story has become the kind of mind-numbing crap that Remender actually denounces in Uncanny Avengers Annual #1, which I am also reviewing today.

As for impact, in recent interviews, Remender has said that this story does indeed count, that the Earth was destroyed and that this story will have some lasting repercussions (most notably, that in some way, mutants will remember their time upon Planet X and some will not be happy to return back to Earth).
I thoroughly enjoyed this issue, from the mission planning in the beginning to the intense action at the issue's end. I wish Marvel would do a whole mini about Planet X though, so much story potential lies therein. Emin's lies have apparently dissuaded others of the horrific cost of Planet X coming into existence but still, do all the mutants find this acceptable? Have others rebelled in their own ways? A more specific point of contention, Jean Grey is on the X-Council. Is this the Original 5 (O5) Jean from Bendis' All-New X-Men? Wanda's spell supposedly collected all the mutants on Earth so logically that would include the O5 as well. So where are the others? So many questions and the hints we've seen of Planet X so far have only amounted to teases.
Plus, according to Remender, we've yet to see Kang's true plans revealed. The Twins usurped their role in his plans for their own vengeance. So you have to wonder if Kang's plan here to save the Earth also serves to put his plan back into motion. So many twists and turns here.
And yes, I am rooting for little Katie Summers to survive this as well.
