Sooo, here's another UA issue.
SPOILERS BELOW
This is a Thor-centric issue, set in the middle ages, with our Thunderer fighting Apocalypse. It's a good story, with a couple of surprise twists and some cool moments, and overall I liked it, but #5 was better IMO. The main problem is that this is not really an Avengers story, but a Thor story, albeit one which will soon have implications in Uncanny Avengers according to the solicitations for upcoming issues.
Again, nothing wrong with the thing per se, everyone is in character, there's plenty of action and the art is good, but I would have rather read the aftermath of the Grim Reaper story.

I've always found Apocalypse to be tedious, and Wolverine to be even more so. So imagine how thrilled I am about an Avengers comic focusing on Apocalypse and Wolverine (yes, I do understand that Thor was the one mainly featured here, but his only job was to protect the oh!-so-important Wolverine's ancestor so that Wolverine can Save The Day. *yawn*) That bile expunged, it was a decent read, for a Thor comic. (As an Avengers comic it was just so-so, due to my dislike of Apocalypso). And I entirely agree that we should have seen the follow up to the reaper story....

I sort of liked it but like Shiryu, when I buy an Avengers book I want it to be an Avengers book, not Thor solo. I was really looking forward to the Grim Reaper storyline, which didn't happen. It seems like they are rushing to put this book out to fast--this issue seemed like the "filler issues" of yesteryear where they'd just cram in a solo Iron Man or Thor story when the regular book was behind schedule.
Good story but it belongs in Thor.

I really liked #6, an unusual issue, but in terms of "time travel" themes, I like how this story was handled. And it all makes sense if you consider .....<<SPOILERS>>
.....Kang and Loki are behind the threat. And I never liked Apocalypse, but I know enough about his convoluted history to see how Remender uses Apocalypse perfectly here. This had more of an X-MEN or THOR tone to it, but I enjoyed it.
An OK diversion, now lets see how Sunfire and Simon fit into this line-up.
DUMB QUESTION: Where is MJONIR?

DUMB QUESTION: Where is MJONIR? I suppose Thor was still unworthy and hadn't been able to lift it yet. Different stories have showed him being worthy at different ages, writers seem to be free to do whaever they want with it. BTW: was it really Loki here? In one scene, it looks like it's Kang all along, pretending to be Loki.

I'm confused too. Is it Loki, Kang, or some combination of the two?
