I'm sure it will be pointed out by many others, but if you are putting out an Avengers AI team, why not include Avengers like Jocasta, Machine Man, or original Human Torch? Still, could be a decent book, we'll see.

That was my thought, tomspasic.
It's really weird to have so many Avengers-related titles out right now. Avengers, New Avengers, Mighty Avengers, Avengers Arena, and now this one. I love that Avengers has exploded into such a large, X-Men-style franchise, but it's . . . just weird.

I love that Avengers has exploded into such a large, X-Men-style franchise, but it's . . . just weird. I'd be happier with the number of books if they made more sense in an interconnected way. I don't get the difference between the teams. I totally see the difference in terms of writing style and art but that's all. If case people don't follow what I mean: When we had Avengers and WC Avengers, it was very clear that these were two branches of the same team, handling events in different areas of the world. The line-ups were different so we knew that while the East Coast team was battling Kang or Nebula, the Wackos were busy with Master Pandemoneum or Zodiac. Now, Captain America is a part of Avengers, New Avengers, Uncanny Avengers, Avengers Assemble, and possibly Secret Avengers. He was in the old group but I'm not sure yet about the new. He even made a guest appearance in Young Avengers. If this is the case, the stories can't be happening simultaneously and it's harder to see why there are so many teams. Other members are in multiple books too but none as bad as Cap. Don't get me wrong, I love Cap as much as the next guy but he's become the new Wolverine.

You're right, Spiderwasp, ,the Avengers teams seem very haphazard. I think they're just flooding the market with titles with the term "Avengers" on the cover to milk every last penny out of the current "hot" status of that name. Typical Marvel strategy.

Spiderwasp, I couldn't agree more. Continuity has taken a back seat on Marvel's need to monopolize on the Avengers current popularity. As mentioned, the West Coast team made sense because it was a division of the main team. Now we have all of these sub teams. true, they all have their purpose (I guess...Secret Black Ops, Uncanny, Androids, etc)...but do we really need Avengers Assemble AND the main team when the former are all members of the latter? Also as mentioned, no way can even Cap be involved in each and every team. Spiderman, Hawkeye and Black Widow also seem to be everywhere at once. Oh well, I guess this is Marvel's "new reality"...to hell with continuity, lets just get the maximum use out of these characters while they're hot!!!
