My LCS had a sale on recent back issues, so I picked up some stuff I normally don't read. And I spotted Red She-Hulk #59, with a nice cover featuring Machine Man and the Avengers logo, so I picked it up
I admit--what intrigued me the MOST about this comic was what was on the cover----WORD BUBBLES! Machine Man was speaking to RSHulk, actually explaining to a potential buyer what the contents therein pertained to!!!! I scanned the rest of the new comics, but I'm pretty sure there weren't any other covers with WORD BUBBLES.
And if that wasn't enough, the art and story were very good, and fun, too. I've always liked Machine Man as an Avenger, though I would admit having he AND Vision on the same team would be unnecessary. But Machine Man would fit in on a Secret Avengers/espionage type team very well, IMO.
And other bigger-name Avengers show up as well, The Big 3 and Capt Marvel, that's what Carol Danvers is calling herself now. Although I don't really mind the name change ( we'll see how long it lasts), the new costume is horrible.
All in all, I'm glad I picked this up, a nice comic with an Avengers appearance. There was a time when I would pick up almost ANY comic with an Avengers guest-spot, before they started showing up a bit tooo much. This book was reminiscent of the good old days.
