This is a review of Secret Avengers #26 and#27
and also a few questions i hope someone can answer for me
First off, I wonder why Secret Avengers #26 sold out last month.
I picked up the 2nd print, and #27 at the same time.
I admit I was dreading X-men vs Avengers tie-ins to the two Avengers books I'm still reading Av:Academy and Secret Avengers.
Well, so far both titles' tie-in arcs have been great.
Secret Avengers #26 and #27 have lots of action, and nice character development for Capt Britain, who I am enjoying as a member. Remender has done a nice job with this book.
But i DO have a few gripes ( and questions).
The art is so-so. Thor looks like Fabio with that big schnozz, and the Vision's face looks like a wrinkly old man.
The covers are very nice, though.
>>>and here are some questions I hope can be answered.
Maybe some things occured during Avengers vs X-men's main title(s) that I am not aware of.
SPOILERS AHEAD>>>>>>>>
First, it seemed like Hawkeye was joining the Secret Avengers in #25, I was really hoping he would take over for Steve as leader. But he's not in #26 or #27. Neither is Black Widow. or Venom.
Anyone know what happened between #25 and #26?
Also, the Ant-man subplot must be on hiatus during the AVvsXmen arc.
Also, I understand the Original Torch is out of commision due to his injuries in #25. But Valkyrie was also hurt (cut shoulder), and seems to have healed VERY quickly. And the Beast was seriously wounded in #23, and out of commision for the rest of that arc.
But he's back in #26, and now he looks like the old blue Beast I've always loved, instead of the furrier, cat-like Beast from the last arc (and the cover of #26 inthe space suit) WTF?
And my last question concerns the Vision. A future Vision was one of the villains from the previous arc, but the (real?) Vision shows up to help the Secret Avengers (along with THOR) in #26.
And WHY did Capt britain try to stop the Phoenix Force with the Phoenix Cage instead of the Vision. I would think the Vision could control his density, and would be less likely to be hurt/damaged than Capt B. Vision really doesn't do a heck of a lot.
BUT, despite my confusion, and the sub-par art, I am definitley intrigued by this story, and can't wait to read #28. ;D
....Ms Marvel sure has bad luck with men, huh?
