So, unless I'm mistaken (and I know Hollywood has the most arcane, labyrinthine accounting "traditions" to ensure that, for profit-sharing purposes, practically no movie ever is declared "profitable"--), this film has just about already paid for itself, yes? Man.
Everybody's talking about it. I was just in a deli and two girls were talking about the movie! Of course i butted into the conversation, majestically holding court!
Haaaahahahaha! Hardly looking like a borderline scary fanboy at all, I'm sure! Oh man, my daughter would give you a tongue-lashing to end all reprimands. Middle-aged guys, as far as she's concerned, should pretty much never speak at all in any public situation. There's simply no instance where it wouldn't be viewed as weird, creepy, or (the mortal transgression) embarrassing. . .
Still, I believe one of the ol' Ranks of Marveldom is probably due to you for your service, here. Just gotta remember which one. . .
Why is the other thread marked movies/animated series then?
Not sure, but I think Van wanted to create a special section for the Avengers movie to make it easier for any new visitor we might have following the film to jump in. I believe he also linked the new section to the main page of his website. All the other films still fall into the other section.
Man, all this-- and at some point some risk-averse GENIUS made the call to NOT back up the film with any sort of console game; just the online thing. Can you imagine if they'd made the early commitment to getting behind a solid, first-tier Ultimate Alliance or X-Men Legends type of thing?
I mean, someone had to have specifically given the big thumbs-down to that venture. Hopefully, that person isn't charge of whatever they've been in charge of anymore. . .
Heck, I would have bought even a mediocre tie-in game. . .
Can't even focus. . . Living for tomorrow night. . .
