Really don't know how I feel about this.

I can only react out of pure selfishness. I haven't read an X-Men title in years, so as long as he is away from my beloved Avengers, I'm happy. I predict the following things to happen within the next year though: 1. Storm wil be remember that she is actually Japanese instead of African which will cause her to send a tsunami to destroy Africa in revenge. The other X-Men will be forced to kill her. 2. Cyclops and Dazzler will have a baby together. 3. 1/2 of each issue for 8 months will be dedicated to Wolverine and Beast sitting around a table talking about what it was like pulling double duty as an Avenger. 4 There will be a sudden revelation that Iceman has the power to freeze things. Everyone will be shocked, as though they never knew this before. 5. It will be revealed that Luke Cage is a mutant and he will become the new leader of the X-Men. 6. Professor X will be torn apart when everyone finds out about his secret affair 25 years ago with the Sentry. 7 It will be made clear that Wolverine was an original member even though we readers just don't remember it that way. 8. There will several titles every month which have nothing to do with the X-Men but will carry the X-Men banner anyway.

I think (seriously) that #5 could very well be Jessica Jones' being discovered to be a mutant, rather than Luke. Her origin certainly provides enough wiggle-room for that to be the case, and one can COMPLETELY imagine the end-of-book, full-page "reveal" panel of Jessica showing up at the door of the X-Mansion, suitcase in one hand & baby in the other, snarking "Face it, X-tigers, you just hit the jackpot-!" ugh-- HB

Not that I'm coming back to new comics, but does this finally mean Wolverine will be out of the Avengers?
I haven't been interested in the X-Men since very shortly into the Jim Lee-vehicle.

To be perfectly fair-- same here. I let go of that entire end of the Marvel Universe about 3 or 4 issues after "Dark Beast" was introduced-- and had been unable to keep abreast of it for quite some time before that. That's, what, over ten years ago, maybe? So the X-Men/Mutant end of things may have had periods of legitimate brilliance in the intervening years, and I wouldn't know of it at all. So I probably shouldn't be too harshly judgmental. But unless some writer was able to completely alter Claremont's deeply-ensconced unswerving-bulldozer-of-doom-&-angst tone (whicih I swear other writers on sister titles never seemed to be able to shake), then I doubt re-visiting the title would hold any interest for me. Excaliber would stand out as the one exception in my book. Oh say-- spiderwasp: Back to your psychic prediction list, there-- #2 would be kind of cool, actually. I'd love to see the Scott Summers I remember as a Dad-! I think that may be the missing piece of his personal puzzle! (W/ Allison, though? Hmmm. Who else ya got? How 'bout Squirrel Girl? Omigod-- even as a wrote that, it became GREAT in my mind! Yesyesyesyes!) #6-- Well, losing the Sentry angle, mind you-- having Charles come out that he's gay (or at least bisexual) wouldn't be the most horrible or unsupportable plot twist foisted upon us. I'd actually give that a chance. . . #8-- Ha! Yeeeeeeah-- but that already happened a couple of decades ago, don't you remember? X-Factor, X-Force, Excabliber, X-Men (2 of them), X-Babies, ohhhh and I know there were more, xcetera, xcetera, xcetera. . . HB

Wow... uh...
Not to clog a post with my own Bendis-rant, but is this Marvel's way of basically trying to make the entirety of the Marvel U in Bendis' own image? I haven't read X-Men books since the early 1990s, because then I got into Avengers and never looked back.
I mean, he's now had his paws on who altogether? Spider-Man? Daredevil? Spider-Woman? The entirety of the Avengers? Now the X-Men? What's next, Hulk?
I shall send good Karma to all X-Men fans that they are able to weather the storm of what is Hurricane Bendis.

I gave up on the X-Men years ago, so this doesn't bother me. I'm not sure he can mess them up any further.
