So anybody reading this got ignition last week and issue 1# this past Wednesday.
A nice bookend to Nova and GoTG lots of action i am hoping ppl buy this so we either get Nova or GoTG back. The stars of this mini appear to be peter quill and Nova, with quasar and the rest of the GoTG as supporting cast, Thanos appears early on as a protagonist i suppose.
It seems due to the various cosmic wars a rip in space time has appeared..called the Fault
over the past year in GoTG and Nova various story lines have dealt with it..the end result being Quasar going though it and finding an alternate universe one where life has won.
This would seem to be good right? WRONG !! its called a cancerverse..uncontrolled growth..its overflowing..there are creatures out there..basically Chutulu type demon things ( i spelled that wrong i know it.) Their universe is full soo they invade the marvel U.
The main enemies are the revengers..demonic versions of the avengers...and the main enemy well i can't spoil it but its perfect. As usual i love what DnA are doing i wish marvel would give these guys an avengers title, they have a real love for marvel cosmic, GoTG has been solid and Nova has been great.
This looks real good..none of the mini's have been as good as annihilation but i like what i have seen so far.
if you like the cosmic side of the marvel U or just a fun book try this one out.
;D

Anything that has "Cthulhu like demons" and "demonic versions of Avengers" with a reference to Quasar sounds like a book I must read.

oops, i didn't know about this thread......
anyhoo, like nova36, i'm loving Thanos Imperative and i believe reading this comic should be a moral imperative for anyone who loves 70s-80s Marvel stuff. Abnett and Lanning are delivering everything i love about comics (since GuardiansofGalaxy #1, actually). I can't believe there isn't more hoopla/publicity about this book, because it really blew me away, so far.

Issue 2# !!!!
WOW !!
the action ramps up in this issue, the GoTG beat down the cancerverse defenders until they rise up again and its up to Thanos to save the day...very impressive
meanwhile Nova and Quasar are in real trouble in over their heads really until the Silver surfer shows up with Galactus in tow . We soon see other Cosmic Abstracts and its a full scale Cosmic War, a nice few panels..Nova, Quasar and the Surfer side by side blasting things to Cosmic Dust.
The Guardians meet the Cancerverse version of the Vision might be an ally might not, and Through the fault we see a Skeleton of Galactus.
Major victory has been taken captive along with Namorita..they seem to be anomalies.
Another fantastic issue, lots of action..who knows what is next?
I can't wait ;D ;D

Well, if anyone stuck around for this mini-----IT WAS FRICKIN' AWESOME!
I just picked up the Thanos Imperative:DEVESTATION One-Shot. It is pretty much just a set-up for Abnett and Lanning's next cosmic team--The ANNIHILATORS (horrible name, impressive line-up).
I'm bummed because the Guardians look like they're pretty much over---but Groot and Rocket racoon will get a back-up story in the Annihilators.
I also don't like the "voices" DnA use for some of the heavy-hitters on the Annihilators, especially Ronan and Gladiator. I guess I'm just not used to these characters speaking so "plainly". I remember reading them with a serious, holier-than-thou tone. These guys weren't craking jokes, they were bad-a$$es. It's the same gripe I have with the "modern" voice of Hercules. Humor can still exist without smart-a$$es.
I hope DnA have something good up their sleeves for ANNIHILATORS.

Oh hey, is this the group that we were talking about as the "Cosmic Avengers" or something a few months back? There was a post with a great splash panel of them striding down a deck or walkway. We discussed the conspicuous absence of viable female members? Am I remembering this correctly?

We discussed the conspicuous absence of viable female members? Am I remembering this correctly? HB Yeah, i guess this team (Siiver Surfer, Beta Ray Bill, Ronan, Gladiator, Quasar) has been in the works for a while now. It's hardly the "Cosmic Avengers", with only Quasar a real Avenger. But that sounds better than "Annihilators" . And the lack of females kinda sucks, because DnA really did a great job writing Gamora, Mantis (who i never cared for before), Moondragon, even Phylla (or whoever she is/was). I'd rather see Mantis and Moondragon on the team----Then they'd really be the "Cosmic Avengers", IMO. I urge everyone to check out Thanos Imperative (the main series). I recently picked up DnA's Heroes for Hire #1 and 2, but so far it's just meh.......still bummed about Guardians of the Galaxy (2008) team. Best ongoing Marvel has put out in YEARS!
