While not necessarily the Finale, per se, since the second run starts in about three weeks, I was wondering what people thought about it.
I thought the idea of the team hunting down Hood and Masque was cool, and the throwback with Nefaria was nice. I thought the fact that Clint didn't put any sort of info in on Nefaria was strange though, he kind of just let Carol fill everyone in.
I thought the scene where the team (including Wolverine, which was nice, actually) drop off Hood and crew in front of Maria Hill and Hill tells them they should be "checking the news and their phones", followed up with meeting with Steve was interesting, even if it came off just a tad awkward.
The flashback of different events while Cage spoke was obligatory, but the final page probably had to be one of my favorites in a long time. Just the two-page spread of the team (sans Wolverine and their costumes) walking in the park just seemed very nice. It struck me that how much I as a reader do get into the superhero exploits and the action, the simple scene of the team like this was my favorite part.
The team seemed more like a family, if that makes sense. Bucky has gone from assassin to Cap A replacement, but now he's part of something that doesn't question his credentials. Clint and Bobbi hand in hand and together was nice, Carol and Jessica looking like two best friends, and then Cage, Jessica, and baby Danielle as a family with Peter taking their photo just all seemed to show something I think, for the most part, Avengers comics have missed lately: The look of a team that CARES about each other.
It's just too bad that this dynamic was only achieved in the "final" issue before shaking everything up again.
