This is really quite depressing. Marvel just keeps pushing me further and further from the table in terms of buying their product.

SPIDER-MAN?? Wasn't he just announced as a member of the "Avengers" team? You know Wolverine is next up. That'll put Logan on what, four or five teams now (I know he's still with the X-Men, he's part of the X-Espionage Squad and now perhaps two Avenger teams.) Awesome...Friggin awesome...If awesome meant extreme hatred.

Well Marvel is once again milking the Avengers.
Greedy people just love to make readers spend money so they can swim in there money.
Spider-Man's words on the teaser "I take responsibility for my actions"
I heard someone say "I take responsibility for my actions" Not for the last 3 years you don't
The fan was talking about One More Day storyline.

Well isn't this a wonderful thing... and I'm of course being a bit facetious. Now, I'll give it a shot, sure, but at the same time, does this possibly open up that Spidey/Logan AREN'T in the "Avengers" book, but only in the New(ish) Avengers?
So we'll have "Avengers", "Secret Avengers", "New Avengers", and then whatever they decide to do with Initiative, Mighty, Young, Pets, etc.? Oh, joyous of joys.

That question crossed my mind, too. Maybe the initial marketing ploy was to tease us with who was under the larger umbrella of All the Avengers, and now they're going back and introducing specific team assignments?
Nah-- they haven't been consistent with that gameplan. Could they really be repeating DC's market-saturation strategy from the 80's, where every single team seemed to have Batman or Superman (or both) in it? Lordy, that's just so cynical. But then. . . there's Wolverine, being thrown under the perpetual-exploitation bus. Man, and I don't even find him at all interesting anymore. . .

The fourth Avengers title will be called Avengers Academy. The title sounds like something that could absorb both Avengers: Initiative and Young Avengers into one series.
I can't find my source for this right now, but Tom Brevoort confirmed the title in an interview this week that I read somewhere.

Big shocker- Wolverine was just added to the team... I just sort of give up totally. This is like waterboarding. I can't take the torture anymore...

I guess I'm still holding out hope that Carol will be part of the "Avengers" title, especially since her solo title ended with a little bit of a nod she's not done, and also so that Spider-Man and Wolverine will be placed on another team.
Now I'm just interested in other characters such as Pym, Mockingbird, and others who are slight stalwarts in current Avengers books who will need a place to go. Tigra will probably go Academy, but there are others I'm curious on.

Well Luke's wife just got added. media.comics.ign.com/media/063/063507/img_7584694.htmlGuess she missed being a super hero and wanted to come back some are guessing that Iron Fist or Daredevil could be on the team. I doubt Daredevil will join unless he goes for another team up in a Marvel Knights Mini Series.

Wow. I had like totally stopped reading New Avengers with Spider-man, Wolverine, Luke Cage, and Jessica Jones always at the forefront but with these NEW New Avengers - I might just be ready to give it a go. Funny how Bendis is always so eager to make major changes and upset the apple cart when it's someone else's apple cart, but he's stuck with the same main characters longer than any other Avengers writer in history.

Well, the new add is something that makes me go "Okay, that could be fun", but I'm still up in the air about this. If the idea is multiple characters are pulling multiple duty, I'd rather them give spots to characters we'd LIKE on an Avengers team. (Such as if Spidey/Logan are on two Avengers teams while Luke is on the New Avengers and Thunderbolts).
Guess we're just gonna have to wait...
Yay...

Funny how Bendis is always so eager to make major changes and upset the apple cart when it's someone else's apple cart, but he's stuck with the same main characters longer than any other Avengers writer in history. I didn't think about it but you're absolutely right. This stuff is so right in his wheelhouse. Bendis just seems to like primarily writing the same dozen or so characters. No problem with that, I guess. I just wish they'd stop acting like it's such a revolutionary take on modern comics. I'm tired of complaining. Marvel and now DC have both started upping their prices to 3.99 on many titles and I'm certainly not going to be buying Avengers of any kind so they might as well cater to those who will be buying the titles. I don't think it's a stretch to say those folks who are buying these books aren't bothered by continuity issues or the idea of characters being stretched too thin. Here's something I do find funny tho' Of all of Bendis' pet characters almost none of them ever get removed from the playing field (replaced like Bucky for Cap, or killed like Hawkeye, or exiled like Wanda or changed like Vision or going to the dark side yet again like Quicksilver did up until last year), His characters, his pet favorites seem to be the most static and the most stuck in the mud. I wouldn't count the Sentry and his recent dark turn because him going all dark IS pretty much par for the course. If I'm a reader I'm gonna notice that the writer's faves never seem to have any trouble making it out of most situations unscathed. And thus they're the most boring to see in action...
