a review of AV:Initiative #24 GREAT writing by Gage, (I wish HE was writing Mighty Avengers) Gage knows the characters, and he is TRUE to the characters/personalities, etc. AND.... Gage is actually making his stories work despite being under Bendis' BOOOORING "Dark Reign" mess. This is actually the first story directly related to "Dark Reign" that I've read that is GOOD! The Shadow Initiative is WAAAAY more interesting than the Dark Avengers (blechhhh <sound of me puking> ) And Gage, IMO, is hampered by so-so art by Ramos. I've stated I'm not a Ramos fan, but since I read this right after the ultra-crappy art from Mighty Avengers (yuck!) it actually was tolerable. The art is not for me---but I will admit I did like the Sienkiewicz-ish style apparent in some of Ramos' group-shot panels. Pretty cool. All in all, this book has been pretty fun, lately. Unfortunately, I think I'm the only one left that's still reading it.
