www.newsarama.com/tv/080727-smallville-legion.htmlYeah yeah, it ain't Avengers, but this is the only comic board I'm on. i had to share this with someone! Just saw the preview. Legion looks kinda cool! As a big fan of the Legion from way back when, I'm kind of thrilled by this one...

I haven't seen Smallville season 8 yet. Was the Legion any good?

Shiryu, I thought the episode was pretty good. This last season overall has been a definite improvement. This particular episode gave us Saturn Girl, Cosmic Boy, and Lightning Lad traveling back in time to help Clark. The funny thing is, the Legion (never referred to as the Legion of Super-Heroes, just the Legion) was so quick to decide they had to kill someone (trying to avoid spoilers here). Clark had to teach them that there is always another way, that you don't kill. That was kind of an interesting idea.
Geoff Johns wrote the script and he threw in some goodies for everyone, including flight rings, the Persuader (seen way too briefly), "Long live the Legion!", and a comment by Cosmic Boy referring to the Substitute Legion. Johns also borrowed some ideas from his own recent Legion work.
This episode made Clark aware that in the future, his legend will influence not just the people of Earth, but many other worlds as well. That's a lot for one person to bear! All in all, an enjoyable ep.

This was a great episode, I'm actually enjoying Smallville more since Lex is gone. Very entertaining, alot of in-jokes and comic references (every season we get more and more , natch), and less soap-opera situations. Plus, I like the one-and-done episodes best, since Smallville usually has alot of plotlines going at once, this was one of the best episodes, IMO.

Thanks Tana and Starfoxxx! (I often wondered, why so many xs?)
I have seen the series up until season 6, because 7 and 8 haven't been aired yet. Heard and read very good comments on season 7 but more so-so for the 8th, so I'm glad this episode is good.

The episode after the Legion one was pretty good, too. Back to more of the soap opera stuff, but overall, I'm loving this season. I think I had Lex Luthor fatigue for a while there, but this season has me back on the bandwagon. No spoiler here, but whoever saw this one, how about that ending? You've got some great stuff to look forward to, Shiryu!

Hopefully. I may have to get the episodes from the internet though, ratings have been falling pretty badly with season 6 and there hasn't been any announcement on buying seasons 7/8...

Last night the episode "Identity" aired, and I have to say it was one of my favorites, so far.
This season is getting better and better. I have really come to appreciate the deliberate pace of Smallville. At first, I thought "When is anything going to happen?", but now I like how a little bit of Superman's history is revealed every episode. And for comic book fans who might have a bit (or a lot) more insight than the average viewer, it is really intriguing.
Oh, and there's also Green Arrow.
Again, Shiryu, I think you're going to like the new season. "Identity" was better than the "Superman Returns" movie, IMHO. The ending gave me goosebumps, and I'm not even that big of a DC guy.
