The answer to the long delayed series.
Finally the fans have their answer. For the past couple years, one of the questions that always turned up during Marvel convention panels was regarding the status of Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk. The mini-series, written by Lost producer Damon Lindelof and drawn by Leinil Francis Yu, was an instant hit, not doubt due in part to the fact that Wolverine is ripped in half at the end of the first issue.
But the readers never saw the conclusion of the series. After the second installment, the scripts stopped coming in and the series was delayed indefinitely. Each convention, fans would ask about the series and Marvel Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada was typically unable to provide updates. The standard answer was that they were waiting for all the scripts to be turned in, and that Leinil Yu could then begin work on the art (after Secret Invasion was finished).
This evening, during its Ultimate Universe panel, Quesada got his wish. When wondering about the status of the mini-series, Damon Lindelof walked into the room, holding the finished script. He apologized for the delays and said he'd be "eating s**t" in the hall outside. He mentioned he thought it would only take a few weeks.
The title of the sixth issue, as written by Lindelof, is: "The One That Took Two Years To F***king Write." Whether Marvel keeps that title for print remains to be seen.
So there you go fans, things are slowly rolling on one of the most delayed series in the industry. As soon as Leinil Yu is done with his Invasion work, the last few issues of the clash between the Hulk and Wolverine will finally become a reality.
