I thought it would be nice to discuss the candidates in each Jarvis category. Since there are a lot of categories, some of which have a lot of candidates, it might make sense to discuss each category in its own thread.
7. GREATEST AVENGERS "MOMENT" of 2006
+ Captain America tells Winter Soldier “Remember who you are.” (Captain America #14)
+ The Two-Gun Kid returns (She-Hulk #4)
+ The Thing’s poker game (Thing #8)
+ Captain America escapes from the SHIELD Helicarrier (Civil
War #1)
+ Spider-Man leaves Cap's shield hanging for him (Amazing Spider-Man #534)
+ “The punch” (Civil War #3)
+ Hercules rushes to save Captain America from Iron Man (Civil War #3)
+ Captain America and Iron Man talk (Iron Man/Captain America: Casualties Of War)
+ Tony and Natasha "break up" (Ultimates 2 #10)
+ The Wasp tells the Liberators Captain America has already escaped (Ultimates 2 #10)
+ Clint Barton returns (New Avengers #26)
+ She-Hulk and John Jameson have dinner with J. Jonah Jameson (She-Hulk #9)
+ Wiccan theorizes he and Speed are Wanda's kids (Young Avengers #11)
+ The New Avengers and Young Avengers team up against the Kree and the Skrulls (Young Avengers #12)
Wow—lots of choices! Too many for me to quickly comment on them all individually—so, I won’t. I haven’t read some of those stories anyway. I agree that the return of the Two-Gun Kid in She-Hulk and the Thing’s poker game in his comic were great times. Clint Barton’s return in New Avengers should have been a great moment, but I feel it was drab at best. She-Hulk’s dinner with her new father-in-law was hilarious!!! Wiccan’s attempt to tie his genealogy into the Avenger’s history was a wonderful moment. But I think none of these bespeaks the greatness of the Avengers so well as the battle royale in YA #11–12, which is why I nominated it. But I could be convinced to vote for some of the others.
So, what’s your take?
