I thought it would be nice to discuss the candidates in each Jarvis category. Since there are a lot of categories, some of which have a lot of candidates, it might make sense to discuss each category in its own thread.
4. BEST ACTIVE AVENGER of 2006 + Captain America + Iron Man
Wow, two choices. Two excellent choices. I nominated Cap, but I was very close to picking Tony. And I still am. I nominated Tony in the Villain category, which made it easier to pick someone else in this one. Cap also got some credit for being truer, in my opinion, to the Avengers ideal. But it’s a close call.
What are your thoughts?

I nominated Cap. There is an argument for Tony, but I think ultimately it's a fallacious argument. Why? Because this category deals with events this year, and let's be frank, this year is dominated by Civil War. Yes, Tony is getting a huge amount of "exposure" from Civil War. But is it positive exposure? I for one cannot see voting for Tony on the basis of him being grossly mischaracterized to the point of demonization. This is absolutely the wrong reason to vote for Tony. Let's face it, Tony is damaged goods for literally years to come. Cap is certainly not coming out of CW smelling like a rose either, but his mischaracterization falls short of Tony's. Add to that the fact that his own title is doing well under a writer who at least knows how Cap should be characterized, and who probably would love to not have to deal with CW.

Hee hee. Just to clarify, no one else got more than one mention, and most people nominated either Cap or Iron Man.
