Those sketches look great. Reading what Cho had to say gave me some ray of hope that despite Bendis's track record, this may be a good Avengers book. We shall see.

I have to ask you this question, and I am being dead serious and not just sarcastic. Do you believe that, in the future, there is any chance of Newsarama (or any other such site, for that matter) actually asking tough questions about controversial decisions, and following them up, rather than acting as a shill for Marvel? I'm not really talking about Frank Cho here. Let's be frank and say I'm really talking about CW. I think (whether you care to admit it publically or not) that you cannot fail to be aware of the intense dissatisfaction among many Marvel fans with the progress of this event. Yet your "interviews" with Marvel personnel in positions to address these tough questions produces nothing more than soft-pitch fluff. On the rare occasions when a probing question a is asked, the canned B.S. response is accepted without further interrogation. RSC

RSC, I love your waffle about "Intense dissatisfaction." If anything, the fanbase is ALMOST evenly split betgween hating and loving. And when a fanbase is ALMOST evenly split, that signifies it's a COLOSSAL success, because thbese things normally result in almost universal hatred. 'Course after your irrational and frankly disgusting attack on Tom B, I don't expect you to see that. The biggest thing this tells us? Looks like maybe old Tony IS still in the suit- see bottom left panel. www.newsarama.com/marvelnew/MightyAvengers/MIGHTAVN001022-23.jpg...Maybe a flashback but...

Frankly, at this point I was rooting for Donny Osmond...

That's the only page from the comic I've seen thus far... and quite a spoiler it is, eh?? (Though one that makes me happy, obviously...) Flashback? It looked more like one of the scenes from the new JUSTICE LEAGUE comic, where new team members are being picked. One other observation about Cho's art: It's good to know that the other Avengers will always be able to set their mugs of beer on Jan's and Natasha's rear ends, even when those two ladies are standing up straight. Yeeeesh.

RSC, I love your waffle about "Intense dissatisfaction." Where's the "waffle" there? "intense dissatisfaction among many Marvel fans." It's a factual statement. I never put a number or a proportion on it. I'd say the majority of the online fanbase is decidely against it, from reading several message boards. It's selling, which is all that matters to Marvel. Well, Heroes Reborn sold well too, and today everyone sees that for the pile of crap that it was. People love a train wreck, and Marvel is giving it to them. Irrational? Disgusting? Because I had the temerity to ask him the unpleasant questions that many fans want to know the answers to? Tom Brevoort has made the statement, and continues to make the statement, that CW was and is a "balanced" story. I asked him if he believed that he was making accurate statements on the issue, and if not, why not. I asked him why Marvel had decided to portray IM and Reed as fascists and what they hoped to accomplish by that. I asked him if Marvel had given too much over to short-term economic benefit that might be counteracted by driving fans away in the long term. The fact that Marvel cannot or will not address tough questions, and entities like Newsarama has every incentive not to press them on such issues, is what I'm complaining about. Great, Nazi Tony is still in the suit! I'm glad for that at least. So, to get back to the original topic -- NewsaramaBen, take this simply as a request to actually ask Marvel about something important to the fans and follow up on it, rather than moving meekly on to the next soft-pitch question about costume design. I don't think there is much of a point for Newsarama to put some questions to Marvel too strongly. They (Marvel) are clearly happy to go the way they are going, and if a question is asked too insistently, they would simply give sales numbers (or could refuse future interviews (I don't think there is any contract between publishers and Newsarama, is there ?).

Frankly, I love waffles. For breakfast I like ’em topped with maple syrup, fruit (strawberries and/or bananas especially), and maybe some nuts. I like the kind with blueberries right in the waffle, too. When I lived in Strasbourg, there was an open-air “Christmas market” in December where I would stop and get a warm, crispy waffle with powdered sugar and some sort of chocolaty sauce. Boy, those brought a little warmth to a chilly day.
