Just read on CW that due to strep throat, issues 6 & 7 will both be pushed back two weeks.
Oh well...

As predicted, the Newsarama forums went aflame with complaints that marvel are so unprofessional for hiring someone who got strep throat and mosnters to retailers for listening to their concerns.

Strep throat is bad news, as it can (if not treated) lead to rheumatic fever, a disorder than can cause permanent heart damage.
It's disappointing but illness happens.
I do wonder at the scheduling, but from a management perspective. In other words, it seems that before awarding a project of such scope, Marvel should have attempted to calculate how much lead time was required, and plan accordingly.

I have heard two different stories now on the effects of these delays. One comic store owner reports no loss of interest in Civil War over these delays, while another reports losing many readers last time, and expects to lose more this time. Both stores are clean, well-lit and well-run establishments in sizable shopping centers. The individual who reported sales losses is located in a someone more affluent part of town. Make of that whatever you will.

Does anyone know the dates these are being released?

I normally have no problem with things being late, because stuff happens as far as illness. However, doesn't it feel like Civil War is starting to get pretty long? The whole thing should be pretty much done by now, but it only feels like its about half-way, which is where its been for about four months.
I don't like fill-in writers and artists either, but as Marvel adds one-shot after one-shot to fill in the schedule the entire event is just feeling thinner and thinner as plot holes become more apparent and some really shallow arguments are exposed as the characters stand around talking to fill time.

I can't agree more. Perhaps this is another reason that, despite my initial opennes, I can only say "slightly negative" in the poll in the main section. It's getting way too long and through too many titles to be enjoyable. As it stands, Civil War is going for how many issues? 8? That's over half a year. Add delays, and it goes for an entire year? That's way to long.

I am left with the distinct, but perhaps wrong, impression that the longer Civil War runs the more sidebar issues (what I call issues I don't believe were ever part of the original plan) Marvel can shoehorn in. I think they decided when sales were good that they should have made the series much longer and either encouraged lateness, or did nothing to discourage it, instead simply enlisting staff and others to churn out vaguely related side stories suitable for release until the Civil War banner.

Uff, a month later, and all the related titles with it. Oh well, it wasn't unexpected
