Hey gang!
I think you guys should check out both Hulk # 100 and Black Panther # 21. Both play roles in "Civil War," despite not having the title.
SPOILERS!
Hulk # 100 has a back-up story called "Planet Cho," which is about a character introduced in Amazing Fantasy (volume 2) # 15 called Amadeus Cho, aka Mastermind Excello. He gets into one of Banner's out bunkers and has a chat with Mr. Fantastic while Reed is working on the clone of Thor. It adds an interesting POV on the whole "shooting Hulk into space" aspect, as well as Civil War overall.
Black Panther # 21 had T'Challa and Storm deciding to join in a military alliance with Atlantis against the US.
While these aren't tie-ins, per se, they contain important Civil War elements. I'll be putting Hulk # 100 into the reading order. I'm going to hold off on Black Panther for a bit.

I just don't think I can read the Black Panther after racist Doom. It somehow destroyed any chance of me reading the book, and after liking the wedding issue I was interested in the world tour.
Then it was apparently decided that the Red Skull and Doom are the same person, and as a long time FF fan that is just wrong.
Which is too bad because I'd be interested in reading what is happening, especially with the FF related rumours surrounding them.

Hulk #100 story was terrible- are these guys TRYING to dis Reed in every possible way? The smartest man on the planet has now been badly beaten by a child and a journalist.
Panther #21.... I must admit, I was pretty "WHAT?" Apparantly Latveria, Wakanda, the Inhumans and Atlantis are forming an alliance? HOW THE HELL ARE LATVERIA DOING ANYTHING AFTER THAT DISASTOROUS VISIT!!!??
Teaming up with Doom is never a good idea unless he has everything to lose... and in this case he definitely doesn't.

They were seen talking to each other in Captain America # 22. I figure that after being through Hell, Doom is pretty much up for anything. Plus, he may just be manipulating people. I'd say give issue 21 a shot. It's pretty good and probably among the best I've seen from this title. Namor really comes off well and not the jerk that we've seen him portrayed as in the past couple of years. Hulk #100 story was terrible- are these guys TRYING to dis Reed in every possible way? Teaming up with Doom is never a good idea unless he has everything to lose... and in this case he definitely doesn't. Unfortunately, this is the only other issue of BP I have other than the wedding arc. A team-up with Latveria would indeed make little sense, but it may not come to manifest. But Wakanda, Atlantis, and the Inhumans? That would work. And, should I mention that if anyone can defeat Mr. Fantastic, it would be Doom? It wouldn't surprise me that if Latveria does get involved, Namor and co. would be keeping Doom on a short leash. I'll take a "time will tell" stance as far as where Doom ends up. As for Hulk # 100, I really have to disagree with you there. I don't think Amadeus was smarter than Reed per se, just faster. Remember, Reed was in the middle of poking around Thor-clone's brain. To suddenly have to deal with a very, very brillant hacker probably just threw him for a loop. If anything, this issue offered some very human insight as to how Reed feels about Thor-clone and challenged his stance regarding Hulk. A little lost on the reporter bit, though. Did I miss something? ~W~

I'm a wee bit confused. Doom and Red Skull? The same person? They were seen talking to each other in Captain America # 22. I wasn't talking literally, I meant the crazy racism that Doom was preaching. That needs a Byrne-esque Doombot exploding to fix it. I think that if True Doom shows up to set the record straight, a Latervian alliance could make sense, as it has been shown quite often that despite the lack of freedom, Doom is a respectable leader of his tiny nation.

I'd say just chalk it up to either 1) Hudlin not getting the character yet; and/or 2) he went through Hell and he prespective on everyone is just a wee bit messed up. In slightly other news . . . www.uncannyxmen.net/db/article/showquestion.asp?faq=11&fldAuto=311Black Panther # 21 is getting a reprint and next issue will sport a "Civil War" cover. Meaning next issue is an actual, offical Civil War tie-in. ~W~

I haven't read either issue, but from your comments, it sounds like things are moving more and more towards WWIII, which someone (W ?) mentioned a short while back.
