At last ther ehas been a leaked picture of everyone's favourite Latverian dictaitor from the upcoming Fantastic Four film! ...Personally, my feelings are mixed. It's unquestionably a step-up over 1 but I dislike the breat-plate and it seems too dark to me, it needs more green. Still, a hearterning step up... if only they can get the character to match!

Oh dear god, what an ugly suit. It reminds me of all those awful Japanese tv shows like Power Rangers. Doom is so simple, yet they still f--k him up.
The worst thing is, I know that my boyfriend and I will go to see this d**n movie, mostly to make fun of it. It's a shame but if it's like the first one, that's the only way we'll enjoy it.

Still better than movie one, tana That's me, ever the optimist. Still, with what I've read in the noevelization it would take the worst kind of idiocy to screw this finale up.

Thanks Doom,
Looking at it makes me think he's a giant sized Marvel leends figure come to life. Why won't they break out some green. Green and silver, it ain't hard.

I actually thought it was a good look. Infinitely better than the first film. So, the improvement impressed me.
Hopefully the movie is better than the first. I'm not sold on their take on Galactus, though.

Is it just me or this "Doom" looks too much like Darth Vader? Is this a coincidence?

Aha but von Bek, you forget. Darth Vader was based on DOctor Doom! So things come full circle at last!

Who would win in a fight...? Doom or Vader...?

It's a much better look than what Doom got in the first film. Whether it's believable or not remains to be seen. At least it's closer to the Lord of Latveria's legendary look, if not there yet.
Pre-maiming Vader defeats Doom every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Post-maiming it's a much closer fight, but I'd have to give it to Doom. He's got ranged attacks, and in that clumsy suit Vader can't evade so well.

Sorry, pre or post maiming, Vader doesn't stand a hope in Hell IF Doom has prep time. Without prep time he barely holds him off for a minute before horrible death, with it Vader is just another pawn.

As I've only seen the 1st, original trilogy, were Vader was already wearing his black suit of armor, I meant that Vader... but, can Doom manage to counteract the Force...? I know he's a powerful, experienced sorcerer, but I imagine most of the spells would require a somewhat longer time to get into effect than Vader using the Force against Doom... So, if there would be no prep time (because yes, with prep time Doom can probably take anybody out, with the possible exception of the accursed Richards...), I'm thinking Doom might have trouble counteracting Vader's petty parlor tricks...

If it's the boring, strict and defined force of the Prequels, then Doom can probably counter it. If it's the looser, more metaphysical Force of the OT, then we need to use the Silver Age Doom, in which case he can still win because he has the wackiest, most brilliantly insane inventions stored away in his armour just in case Besides, couldn't he in a worst case scenario SWAP MINDS and thus harness the ability of the force himself?

Well, sure, if he has prep time... If Vader has prep time he subjects all of Latveria to orbital bombardment. Doom dies never knowing who killed him. But straight on? Doom's not nearly as agile as a force-enhanced Jedi. And up close he hasn't got anything as effective as a light saber. His one chance is that he can use magic, because Vader easily evade his clumsy (relatively speaking) physical attacks. Whether or not he's that good with magic is debatable.

If it was a universe that has ALWAYS had a Vader I think Doom would already be aware of the force and have a means of accessing it.

He could probably take down OUR Doom, but not Victor von Doom Don't be insane, I could take down Vader with one hand tied behind my back! Do you really wish to underestimate me? I think the abilities of the force are wildly exageratted and I'd have a conversation with Vader!

I wasn't taking this ver seriously, but think about this. I equate Jedi mind tricks with Kilgrave the Purple man. Even Kenobi comments about strength of mind.
Doom does not have a weak mind. He would shrug off the mind tricks with ease. So it comes down to a fight. Doom has shields, I think he could counter the light Saber. Then it's just a matter of him figuring out how to best do Vader in.
I call Doom.

Two pieces of news on this front. 1. A clip with armoured Doom visible. 2. A figure which is most close to the earlier pic and consistent with the above clip but AWESOME! (And don't look if you don't want spoilers but notice what the base is....) I'm very, very pleased. They kept much of the original while making it their own. Most important,y unlike the above leaked pic, METAL ARMS, and confirming suspicions, METAL LEGS. The above had a kind of horrible rubber. Also GREEN CAPE instead of brown. This is explained because it's been discovered final armour Doom will be CGI-enhanced. So.... Just eight days until DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
