Just what it says! When Iron Man reveal himself as Tony Stark to his fellow Avengers? I've been reading some older stuff lately (Kree-Skrull War, Avengers/Defenders, Celestial Madonna, for starters) and I was surprised he was still spouting on about "my employer, Tony Stark." So when did the truth come out?

I have come to the realization that I'm no longer interested in the current Marvel Universe. Now I know how many of the old school Assemblers of AA felt about 10 years ago, when Marvel was involved in the CIVIL WAR and SECRET INVASION. For many, these shake-ups and cash-grabs were so contrived and, basically, bad ideas, it would be the "last straw". Well, I stuck around, enjoying a title or arc here and there. Abnett/Lanning's Guardians of the Galaxy and OLD MAN LOGAN are two prime examples of why I kept reading/buying current Marvel Comics. But I still pick up the Marvel Previews mag and I just think every new comic title/series/idea is just SOOOO lame. Just pathetic, and $4-$5 a pop, no way jose. I'm done. starfoxxx I'm kind of in the same boat, to be honest. I've been pulling away from Marvel very slowly over the past few years and I'm down to two comics from them from this whole ANAD Marvel initiative -- Spider-Woman and Ant-Man. It ultimately comes down to these three reasons: 1) Nothing interests me anymore. Don't get me wrong. I'm not bitter. I'm not angry. I'm not upset at Marvel and the audience. I wish it all the best, but very little of it interests me. I'm reading Ant-Man and Spider-Woman because these two characters are parents, something that is rarely seen in super-hero comics. But old mainstays like X-Men and Avengers? Eh, no thanks. Pass. 2) Secret Wars and Hickman's Avengers run was the perfect end-point for my tenure reading the Marvel Universe. It was fantastic, had all of these characters and storyline elements I had invested 20+ years in, and the ending was exactly what I wanted. I love the optimism moving out of that event and it was a great note to leave on. 3) Axis, Marvel's event from late 2014, was a big mess. A big big big mess. It destroyed the Quicksilver/Magneto/Scarlet Witch dynamic that I loved so much. It was unforgiveable. Again, I'm not bitter. I don't hate anyone, I don't think anyone is dumb for buying these or anything. I applaud Marvel for their attempt at diversity (Spider-Woman a Mom, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, Ms Marvel, Spider-Man [Miles Morales], Starbrand and Nightmask, plus more fun and light-hearted books like Howard the Duck and Squirell Girl). I'm also not planning on looking at Previews and decrying Marvel's decisions and hype. Something is always someone's favorite comic. But this decision had lead to me to other comic companies and new comics -- Saga, Paper Girls, Birthright, and Back to the Future are all great comics that I highly recommend.

Yeah, I lost my password and it wouldn't let me log in and all this stuff.
I've kinda moved on from Marvel myself. I'm still buying some of their books(Spider-Woman, Ant-Man), but honestly, the most recent Hickman run on Avengers and the subsequent "Secret Wars" crossover felt like the perfect end-point me. That, and the growing expenses of having a family, has cut in my comic buying. I am still buying some other comics though -- Back to the Future, Saga, Paper Girls, Bob's Burgers, Klaus.
Kids are growing! Whodda thunk it? My oldest has just graduated preschool, heading for Kindergarten next year. My youngest is doing another year of Preschool, but that's all right. They're awesome!
I published a book, too!
One of the reasons I've come back, is that I've decided to read every Marvel comic I own. I'm planning on doing some selling in the next few months, so I figured this is the great time to do this. I figured I'd share some of my thoughts on those comics. With some of these being from the Bronze Age, I thought it might spark some conversations here!

I once saw Rob Liefeld at Wizard World Chicago. He was waiting on an elevator, eating lunch nearby, and then hanging around the lobby of the hotel. It was awesome. I was 15.
Oh . . . and I'm back. Good to see you all.
