Here we go . . .
As many of you know, I am a huge fan of Bendis' New/Mighty Avengers. I've rather enjoyed these books and have been pleased to have them every month (or so).
But, I guess, the more I think about it . . . the more I've come to realize that while this is an era I'm enjoying, I want the Avengers back.
I want a team with Captain America (heck, it can even be Winter Soldier Cap), Iron Man, Thor, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Wasp, and Yellowjacket. They can be the forefront of the Intiative, out there tackling the big bad guys. Written by Joe Casey or Ed Brubaker or Christos Gage or Brian Reed. With art by . . . anyone, really, except Yu.
I would be even happier with an on-going featuring the "New" team with Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Spider-Woman, Spider-Man, etc. written by Bendis.
This would make me happy. C'mon Marvel, let's get these heroes back together! Everyone wants it.

You know, W, it would have to be some kind of reboot in order to draw me in. After Civil War drove me off, I truly have no clue as to what's been going on in Marvel proper. I know nothing but the basic premise of the Initiative, I don't know if Bucky is Cap or not, I haven't followed the latest tragedy-of-the-day in the Spider-verse...
It sounds great to have all of the oldies-but-goodies back together, but it would take some energy for me to get back up and running with it. I'm still pretty down on Marvel.

Mighty is Avenger enough for me. Though I do wish Bendis would stop the Hank-hatred and let Pym back on a team.

Mighty is Avenger enough for me. Though I do wish Bendis would stop the Hank-hatred and let Pym back on a team. I don't mind him not being on the team so much (Though he'd be a welcome addition) but you are so right about the hatred. I like the character but Bendis makes me feel like there is something wrong with me for it. Other characters have had breakdowns and turned dark for a while but are allowed redemption. Somehow Hank is immune. As for Mighty being enough for me, I'm still at a wait and see place. It's great having Wasp, Wonderman, Ms. Marvel, and Ironman on a team together again (Black Widow too but to a lesser degree) but since we're still on the first storyline it's hard to really get a feel for whether or not it's going to satisfy my Avengers hunger. So far it's been like getting an occasional light snack when I really need a good meal.

You know, this is all the classic avengers fans wanted when Bendis redid it. Let Bendis have his "Marvel Knights" team. (yep if you take out Cap and Iron Man, the orginal NA was nothing more then a bad Secret Defenders comic).
I really wish they would give an Avengers comic with a classic Avengers team to someone like Casey.
Oh well.

How about Peter David...? I think that would be interesting...

Peter David would not be a bad choice either.

Peter David seems to have a great respect for Marvel history and characterization. I'd love to see him do an Avengers book.

Black Panther, Storm, Hercules, Starfox, Wasp, Dr. Strange, Vision. That would be a great line-up, if Quesada's universe ever goes back to normal, and there is only one Avengers team.
