Well, we will be better for your return. I hope whatever calamities befell you were manageable and you and yours are well.

Still looking for Ultron.
bobc, please come back. I have a sense you're lurking out there in un-logged-in-ville...
shiryu, you couldn't have gotten another 2-week cold, could you?
uberwolf? uberwolf?
And where's the Fearless Leader and our founder been?
And anyone else who hasn't posted in a week or so? Come on back and join the fun!!

I actually think it was much longer than that. I had some troubles in my own forum with a banned guy who kept coming back to create havok, so I spent all my free time monitoring there. I still came here daily BTS, but with no time to post. Well, here I am now ;D

Thanks One does what one can, but it did take a while to read everything that was posted. Interesting to notice that most posts were in this section, with very little new in the others. In the next few days I'll post a few new topic in "classic Avengers", let's keep our leading section alive and active !

It's probably simpler to list "Active Members" at this rate

Hmm, I had noticed a few days ago that we are having more posts but less people. Even some of those who used to be regulars seem to be gone (hopefully temporary)

Hmm, I had noticed a few days ago that we are having more posts but less people. Even some of those who used to be regulars seem to be gone (hopefully temporary) Speaking as one of the former regulars who hasn't posted in a couple of weeks (And this only goes for me, I'm not trying to speak for anyone else) I think you have addressed the very reason for the problem. I was really enjoying these boards for awhile. I would post something and wait to see who would respond and how. Sometimes it would be someone agreeing with me, and sometimes disagreeing (I really don't mind being disagreed with) but it was fun because it was unpredicatable. That changed shortly before I decided on a leave of absence. We got to the point that every comment made elicited an immediate counterpoint, usually by the same person. It didn't really matter what the opinion was, the response was the same and by the same person or persons. I was no longer able to have conversations with Rex, Tananile, dlw, shiryu, uberwolf, etc. because every thread was taken over by the same old "Your wrong" "Your wrong" "Your wrong". I decided that if I already knew what was going to happen with every post, there wasn't much point in making them. As I said, I'm not trying to speak for anyone else, but I think it's possible that some of the others who have stopped posting recently may have done so for similar reasons. I already know that the first response to this will be "I have a right to my opinion and I intend to express it," so I'll go ahead and address that now. I totally agree that everyone has their right to their own opinion and, as I've stated before, I think these boards would get boring if we all just agreed about everything. However, my response is that there are a lot of us who feel the same way about a lot of things and would like to discuss our views without being challenged on every word we say. I want to hear everybody's views but not in response to every post. There, how's that for stirring up a hornet's nest?

Spiderwasp, did I detect just a hint of that directed towards me?
The reason I post in as many threads as possible is simple: There are far more people espousing one view on this forum than the other, therefore I as the most active remaining believer of the other view, must stand up and defend my beliefs on nearly every single topic!

There, how's that for stirring up a hornet's nest? Sorry I missed you off the last couple of posts I'd made -- I guess I didn't realize it was running on a couple of weeks . As to the crux of your argument, I guess I solved that by basically agreeing to hole up in the two areas of the boards where I feel I'm on an even level knowledge-wise, and that's the General and Classic Avengers sections. As I said, I dropped NA, I am not going to buy MA, I didn't finish Civil War, and I don't intend to get in on the "next best crossover EVER!!" -- whatever it will be. So, while I may still read in those sections and throw in the occasional bit of humor or sarcasm, I don't really have any contributions to make. But that's just me. Spiderwasp, you were making some great points and I enjoyed your POV (largely because you were speaking for me -- except that I didn't read the books!). So, don't stay away; while I agree that every posit doesn't require a retort or rebuke (and the "dissenting opinions" ;D around here are very good at sometimes grouping posts to which to respond), I'd also say don't run from an argument.

I do agree that the boards became extremely contentious for awhile here, particularly when we began debating the politics and ethics of the Civil War. Personally, it got very tiresome; when I realize I have come to a point in a debate where the other side can not persuade me and vice versa, I am ready to call truce and move on. For the most part, this is what I have done the last few weeks. I think there are still plenty of other subjects to discuss here, and I really enjoy hearing from fellow Avengers fans. I hope that our missing folks are just taking a break and haven't given up on the boards. I'd hate to think anyone felt attacked or driven away by some of our more heated discussions.

I actually did pretty much the same thing in some of the hottest topics, even though being moderator I've read (almost everything) everything This being said, things like this are fairly common in forums, especially when the topic is something all contenders consider very important, so hopefully this didn't push away anyone. After all, most of it was confined to the CW and Cap sections.

It's Dundalk and Dundrum and I live in Béal Feirste, or "Belfast" to ye uncultured ones That said, I swear I myself did NOT kill Ultron. ...Note that I do not take responsibility for anything my Doombots may or may not have done

But I shouldn't have just assumed you lived in or near Dublin... That being said, I think Beal Feirste looks (my 1st impulse was to say sounds but, honestly, I haven't the faintest idea about how to pronounce it...) way better than Belfast!

But... but... I/We do...!!! There's dumb Bong (he's kinda the dominant one...), smart Bong (his appearances are rare indeed...), blue Bong (perennially saddened by Marvel's current direction...), Bong-Who-Wants-to-Brainwash-Doom, Bong-Who-Wants-to-Be-Friends-with-Doom, and so it goes, in the words of Kurt Vonnegut...

I did! I wrote about it at a different thread & Doom replied he hasn't been gone for too long... Personally, I think he now might be another body deep down some northern Irish body of water... probably weighed down by an old, discarded, rusted set of grey armor...
