I thought it would interesting to see what Avenger stories we would like to see. (Other than team change, Bendis' hand and mouth webbed up by Spiderman while Captain America kicks him in the groan). I would like the following: The Trail of Scarlet Witch- The idea is that SW is found and stood trail for her action. Of course, she would redeem herself and become a ward of the Avengers. The Search for Hawkeye- Self explanatory Avengers VS SHIELD- I think this one is being build up with Civil War. Iron Man VS Spiderman- see above comment Captain America love triangle with Ms Marvel and Spiderwoman- I have always seen Cap as a Batman like figure. Always alone and solitary. I think this would give him more humanity beyond the Icon symbol of America. NO WEDDINGS!! not yet anyways. Captain America and Wolverine travel back to WWII to prevent their own death due Kang. The wedding of Jarvis and Aunt May....just kidding.

I like the Iron Man vs Spider Man bit, Spidey has been "orbiting" in Tony's atmosphere recently, and I wonder how long that will last.

If Wonder Man is indeed coming back (in the leisure suit, no less), then I would like to see a return of the Beast to active duty. And not with the cat face... I will say one thing for Bendis -- he can write snappy banter (at least in the USM book), and could be well-suited to writing ol' Hank McCoy!

What I'd love to see is a real clash between Galactus and the Avengers.
IIRC, the only times they've actually met have been when other things were involved, such as the Infinity Gauntlet/Thanos, or when they were helping out the FF (in that Byrne story).
I want a good, old fashioned throwdown where all the Avengers (well, you know what I mean) take on the big purple guy. Spread it over six issues or so, with Thor and Iron Man battling whatever herald you'd care to name. And the resolution wouldn't involve Reed Richards thinking of some clever trick.
I'm thinking classic Avengers here, of course, not the current stuff.

I remember that the Black Panther had an anti-Galactus manual during Priest's run--might be cool to have him execute his plan with the Avengers as Thor and Iron Man duke it out with Firelord or whoever Galactus' current herald is. I'd love to see the heavy hitters go form the first line of defense, while the more subtle Avengers like the Panther, Wasp, Scarlet Witch, ect come in under the radar.

I think this would give him more humanity beyond the Icon symbol of America. NO WEDDINGS!! not yet anyways. Idea 1 is great -- Cap getting in a couple of free shots to Bendis' stones would be high on my list. My opinion is that you are going to "sort of" get your wish on the second one. I believe that Bendis has been implying since issue 13-14 that Spider-Woman has a major crush on Cap. (Not that I think that's a good idea, because I don't.) Bendis also made it seem like Cap had more than a professional interest in Ms. Marvel in #15. Again, bad idea, because Cap has historically never shown the slightest inclination to date someone on his team, despite half a dozen opportunities. He's too professional. I say: dumb idea all around, but it is Bendis we're talking about. Not to even mention that Cap is involved with Sharon Carter in his own book. RSC

Cap still needs to be written with old-fashioned 1940's middle-American values. Boob-jobs notwithstanding... A cool mini-series would be a simultaneous "What If" story where the FF and the Avengers switch places in the Kree/Skrull War and the Galactus/Gabriel story (FF 120-124?).

I seem to remember that, a very long time ago (during Perez first run I believe), it looked like there was potential between Cap and Ms Marvel (I think it happened in the issue before Taskmaster appeared for the first time, reprinted in the Perez visionaires).

Avengers #194 to be exact, but a little tease was as far as it ever got. She's a favorite on the Captain America board and lots of long-time Cap fans want to see that story done. Not me, though. RSC

I think given Carol's past troubles with the booze, as well as the whole Marcus/Immortus deal, that Cap might view her as somewhat of a charity case (not sure if that's the right term, but hopefully you get my meaning). I think Cap has worked better with women outside his Avengers job, ie Sharon Carter.

Don't really have an opinion about whether Cap should hook up with the Ms. As long as Sentry's not in the book, then maybe.
I would also love to see a throwdown between Galactus and the Avengers. Galactus could say to himself, "you know, I promised Richards not to eat the EArth, but I'm Galactus and I changed my mind. Screw Richards!" Then the Avengers would just physically fight off the big guy by force of arms. I want a double-sized issue that's all action. On newsprint so it doesn't cost 6 bucks. The stealthy guys can sneak around on Galactus's ship -- how about they steal it and pilot it toward the sun or otherwise compel Galactus to leave the battle. Then, he's tricked into getting sucked into that worm hole that caused Galactic Storm, and trapped in the nether regions. When he returns a year later, he's a mad-as-hell villain, and the heroes would have to somehow again win his mercy in another galaxy spanning Marvel tale. Maybe the Grandmaster could win some kind of bargain in the mix.
Or something more likely ... I want to see the death of the Sentry. The cover would be a tribute to the Death of Captain Marvel, except there's nobody at the funeral.

Awww. Why all the Sentry hate?
Avengers Forever 2. I loved the first one. It was my introduction in Avengers history. I'd love to see Busiek and Pacheco work on massaging the details regarding Disassembled so that it makes more sense.
And . . .
I've always wanted to see a story featuring the entire Avengers team being torn apart by a revamped Hydra that has recruited other villians to help out. For example, Taskmaster and Grim Reaper take down Cap, both being paid by Hydra. All of the reserve Avengers are ordered to take a low profile as Black Panther grabs as many heavy-hitters as he can and eventually, with Hawkeye and Wonder Man, storm the Hydra base, free their counter-parts.
I also had an idea that Thor recruits various Avengers to journey with him to Asgard to fulfill some sort of prophecy regarding a band of warriors matching the details of the Aveners - a man wearing a flag, a man in a suit of armor, a man who is not a man (Vision), and a witch (Scarlet Witch). Only to discover . . . he screwed up. The prophecy actually pertains to USAgent, War Machine, X-51, and Aunt Agatha.
Another idea is that I really wanted to see the New Avengers go after a big time villian that not all of them had experience with. I mean, sure, Captain America and Iron Man have experience with Ultron, but what about Cage? Spider-Man? Wolverine?
I can just picture Wolverine going after Ultron, slicing him up while Ultron's blasts him; both of them self-healing and self-repairing as the battle goes on and on. How would Cage handle that? Or Spider-Man? That's my biggest disappointment with New Avengers is that we didn't see situations like this.

We had Thor; we don't need no stinking Sentry... (shoot, we had Gilgamesh, which was a step up compared to this loser...) B) Sounds like "Under Siege" to me... C) How could Ultron's adamantium body be carved up by Wolverine's adamantium claws? And as for Cage, I think we've seen the original form of Wonder Man against Ultron.

I never encountered the Sentry firsthand until NA. But, I do try to read each month's Diamond solicitations so I am not completely in the dark, and I didn't care much for the premise of the Sentry from the get-go, him being "forgotten" yet fully engaged in the development of the Marvel Universe.
Under Siege was an Avengers story that ran in the mid-80's by John Buscema. It is available in tpb and is a must read if you like tons of villains and Hercules getting his brains beat in (or out...).
Oh, I shouldn't have poo-pooed the Wolverine/Ultron match so much -- I suppose it would be cool, but I reiterate: Wouldn't it be a stalemate?

That's a brilliant idea -- the Avengers Forever treatment for Avengers Disassembled. Actually tell the story the way it needed to be told. Yes! "Avengers Forever Disassembled." I could buy into that.

I had this story idea. Lots of times a super hero is put in a situation where he can either (a) go after the villian, or (b) save a citizen who's been put in danger by the villian. They usually go for the latter. My idea is what if a hero is so desperate to stop a villian that he is willing to let a innocent person die so he can stop the villian?

The New Avengers seem kind of low powered, meant to deal with more mundane villiany than past teams. I've always considered the Avengers of the mid to late 70's to be the ultimate collection of heroes ( although I haven't yet read the 90's Perez run). There are two stories I'd like to see.
One, a rematch against Thanos. No Infinity Gauntlet, no other tricks or doodads. Just Thanos vs. the Avengers. They tried it once with Adam Warlock... and lost. I always wondered why Thanos kept them as trophy's instead of dispatching them to his mistress. What better offering to Death than the Avengers?
Two, the Avengers vs. the Vision. Some how, some way the Vision is returned from his demise a little unhinged and angry about the way he was discarded. The real Vision, the dark brooding Vision. He who betrayed his creator to stand by them; found friendship and love in their ranks and then was cast aside like yesterdays garbage. He who knows all their strengths and weaknesses and how to exploit them. The Vision was once the mightiest of heroes and as Captain America said in thier epic battle against Count Nefaria, " It was the Vision's solo effort that finally beat him" It would give the new members who he never fought along side the key to defeating him.
The only thing I've seen the so called "New Avengers" fight is Ninja's. Kitty Pride fought ninja's when she was 14, and the Avengers couldn't do any better?? wth... That whole Sentry ego creature thing didn't count as far as I'm concerned.

A What If story I'd like to see is What If Stan Lee had never worked with Marvel. What would the characters he helped make be without him? What would be the changes? Would some characters not exist at all?

While the claws are potentially sharp enough and strong enough he can't put enough force behind them to puncture such a dense material. Let's say you had a titanium switchblade and then you started jabbing it against the side of a tank. You might be able to chip it in tiny measure, but getting the small thin blade to slice away huge chunks would be nigh impossible. Now if the Hulk had adamantium claws then perhaps... Oh and Spidey briefly fought Ultron in one of the marvel crossover annuals. he did just fine.

I thought it would interesting to see what Avenger stories we would like to see. (Other than team change, Bendis' hand and mouth webbed up by Spiderman while Captain America kicks him in the groan). I don't think this is a very good idea. Cap wouldn't need Spidey to hold Bendis in place for the necessary doodad drubbing, he could do that just find by himself. The Trail of Scarlet Witch- The idea is that SW is found and stood trail for her action. Of course, she would redeem herself and become a ward of the Avengers. The question this raises is the degree to which she's actually responsible for her actions. That's a story better suited to exposition rather than action and, present "writer" notwithstanding, the Avengers are a book better suited to action. Of course, if the Avengers discovered at some point that Wanda's bizarre behavior stemmed from the unwholesome influence of an extradimensional entity I will call Az'haat, and then had to go deal with that... Avengers VS SHIELD- I think this one is being build up with Civil War. Given that SHIELD apparently employs a number of second-tier powers, and has tactical geniuses working for it, this could make a nice tale if built up as a subplot for a couple of issues first. Captain America love triangle with Ms Marvel and Spiderwoman- I have always seen Cap as a Batman like figure. Always alone and solitary. I think this would give him more humanity beyond the Icon symbol of America. NO WEDDINGS!! not yet anyways. I enjoyed his romance with Diamondback. I thought, "now here is a chance for Cap to demonstrate the value of moral behavior by carefully guiding this chick to the correct side of the moral spectrum, reinforcing the value of his, well, values." Ms. Marvel might be interesting. I think Spider-Woman works far better as a kind of darker, solo character than she does in a team book. She needs to fight weird villains like Angmar (yes, I know Kurt killed him, I just using him as a type) and suchlike. Wolverine vs. Ultron - eh, I don't think it should last very long. Wolverine can't really harm Ultron, who is after all made of the same stuff Wolverine's skeleton is made of. That means Wolverine's only real chance is to get in close and reach inside Ultron to where his vulnerable parts are. And while he's trying that, Ultron nails him with the encephelo beam, and then kills him at leisure while he's in a coma.
