I just picked up the latest Uncanny Avengers and I have to say it has the most god-awful art I have ever seen in a comic book. Whoever this artist is, he makes Rob Lifield look like Vincent Van Gogh. There is one drawing of the Scarlet Witch screaming which is, without question, the worst drawing I have ever seen in a comic book. Look at the panel where Wanda says to Rogue "You have to calm down..." It is astonishingly awful! I hate to be a jerk, but paying $4.00 for a comic that previously had pretty good art in it really rankles me. It's like a mix of craptastic Anime and really, really badly drawn anatomy. Remember how Lifield couldn't draw feet to save his life? Well this guy cannot draw hands. The hands look like little pointy sticks and I couldn't help but notice that he does his best to avoid drawing them. My GOD the art borders on CAMP!!! Consider yourselves warned.
#24 or #23 bobc? I know I recently commented on the terrible art and faces on UAv #23. Sanford Greene----I hope that's a ghost-artist name---I'd be embarrassed by the effort for #23's interior art.
Salvador LaRocca returns to UAV #24---not the greatest but 1000x better than Sanford Greene.
Yeah---it's too late, Uncanny Avengers is the only title left on my pull-list, but if I had leafed through #23 first, I might have put it back on the shelf......but I have to support my LCS---I'm down to one monthly comic book and BACK ISSUE magazine (the only thing apart from Marvel movies that keeps me interested in Marvel and DC stuff).

Hey Foxy--I don't have the issue in front of me but it's the latest one. The previous art was good, not amazing, but the new stuff is 7th grade artist hoping-to-make-Marvel. It is just horrible. I'd love to comment on the story but the art just turned me off to the story.
Okay, this thread started out a little confusing, but I'll stick with it for a review of UAv #24, since only 4-5 people even read this stuff, ha-ha! (Jeez, NO ONE has posted ANYTHING for over a week! Everybody still out there???)
I REALLY liked Uncanny AVengers #24, it had the feel of an ACTUAL (or old school) Avengers comic book! The art---LaRocca is back, thankfully!--is very good. Well ANYTHING is better than the crappy art from last issue.
The interaction with Logan, Wanda, and Rogue drinking beers was pretty good.......but I personally HATE that Wolverine costume----it may be among his WORST ever! I think it may be similar to what he wears in the Days of Future Past movie, but I can't stand it. In contrast, that has to be among my FAVORITE looks for Wanda, and definitely my all-time favorite "costume" for Rogue!
The "opening/explanation" page leaves little for surprises, as it announces that the S-Men will appear. I'm just sick of Remender's use of this extra page.
Remender's writing is good, but pretty decompressed, I guess that's just how comics are written these days, and I'm going to have to get used to it. "Talking" scenes take up 4-5 pages, and would probably have been done in 4-5 panels in the old days (if say, John Bryne was writing the same scene).
The S-men look like a pretty cool nemeses (sp?) for the X-Avengers.....I guess they have appeared before, but I don't remember them from anything I've read or seen.
I wish Remender was a bit better with his "voice" characterizations....His Logan and Wanda are a bit off, while his Rogue and Red Skull "voices" have little to no "accents" at all. When did Rogue lose her "Ah'm" and "Sugah"s that gave her such a distinct Southern accent, and Red Skull's German accent???
This issue seems to be another "set-up" issue, with the big battle promised for next issue (#25)......but I know better than to get TOO excited over Marvel's "hype"....I've been disappointed ALOT over the last few years.
And I still believe that #25 will be the FINAL issue of Uncanny Avengers.....It seems to be leading into the AXIS/Avengers/X-men series that will be written by Remender. I will not be picking up the AXIS series, unless I hear EXTREMELY good things about it. I'm glad I have stayed away from the last couple Marvel "EVENTS", which seem to be quite UNDERWHELMING and convoluted with tie-ins. (AXIS looks to have a ton of tie-ins) And I've heard mostly horrible reports on ORIGINAL SIN.
On a side-note rant....I just saw that ORIGINAL SIN has an ANNUAL out this week. A limited-series, mega-event earns an ANNUAL?
Anyway, I'll be picking up Uncanny Avengers #25 tomorrow, I hope it doesn't disappoint. And I hope it's NOT the final issue, or I won't be buying ANY new comics for the foreseeable future. (Well, maybe Abnett's Guardians 3000, if that's any good).

Is there ANYBODY out there??
I'm out here, but this Baltimorean is a bit more obsessed with baseball than comics at the moment. Been a while since I had the opportunity this far into October.
I'm not reading any current Avengers titles, as a vote against their sheer numbers. But I listen to Earth's Mightiest Podcast to get a sense of what's going on. I tell you, I was worn out just listening to summaries of all the Original Sin stuff. I can't imagine trying to follow all that. I expect Axis will be much the same.
I do read All-New Invaders, though, and the Original Sin tie-in story there was pretty well handled. The Original Sin concept was a trigger point for a story that stood entirely on its own, so it didn't really disrupt the book. It just gave them an excuse to put the event logo on the cover. If the events come no closer to what I read than that, I'll be glad.
cue Pink Floyd---The Wall----"Is there any body OUT THERE?"...............
Well, I just got the new Marvel Previews and it looks like UNCANNY AVENGERS will begin anew in Jan. 2015. Yes, it will start over at #1 (whatever, I'm immune to this kind of marketing CRAP by now) and the cover looks like a new line-up with the Vision, Scarlet Witch, and Quicksilver, amongst others, all in dreadful new costumes. I think they may be alternate reality versions, but I think I'm misusing the word "reality", what is the "reality" of the MU, what is the 616-universe now, what the heck is happening?
I'm not reading AXIS, so I plan to be even MORE confused by all the "alternate reality/dimensions/timelines"......
the good news is Remender and Acuna are on the #1 issue, and I liked a lot of (I'm reluctant to say "most" of) the stuff they did in what I will now call UNCANNY AVENGERS VOLUME 1!
That is all....for now.....respond if you wish.....if not, I'll just continue talking to myself, ha-ha
