I thought it would nice to create a thread to keep track of the various goings-on in Marvel's movie front. Plus, feel free to discuss any and all overlapping plot points from the films so far although bear in mind the potential for spoilers. (For example, where has Hawkeye been during the Winter Soldier crisis and how has the ending affected him??)
Guardians of the Galaxy is set to premiere this August. Marvel has released two trailers for the film so far and I've actually seen one TV commercial for it. There seems to be more of a comedic tone to this film, perhaps similar to the first Iron Man film, but the more I watch the trailers, the more it occurs to me that there might actually be a fun popcorn movie in all of this. I think it's Marvel biggest risk in films to date but the potential pay-off, if successful, may be enormous (and Rocket Raccoon looks terrific!)
In case you haven't heard the news, Marvel has teamed up with Netflix to produce 4 separate shows for release next year featuring Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist. The shows have the potential near their first season's end to culminate in a team-up event that some are calling a Defenders-type affair.
Naturally, my interest is highly piqued for Daredevil, a character that I've always thought is better suited for TV than the movies. It was recently confirmed that Charlie Cox is set to play Matt Murdock. Cox has appeared in the film Stardust and more recently in the show Boardwalk Empire. Myself, I've yet to see him in anything, which is fine with me for that means I have no preconceptions over how good or bad a choice this is.
