One of my favorite periods in Avengers history.

Sounds like an interesting collection--I always love to see the work of artists like Perez and Byrne. And in case anyone didn't already know, here's some great news about Perez: according to his Facebook page the recent operation he had helped improve his vision to the extent that he no longer needs to wear a Nick-Fury like eyepatch.

That's great to hear. He's supposed to have to some creator-owned material being published by Boom! next year that I was looking forward to reading. That Epic Collection trade covers a wide range of issues that I have to yet to read so was definitely looking to acquire it. Also, tomorrow sees the release of Absolute Vision Vol. 1, covering #231-241, Annuals #11-12 along with some other assorted material. I was going to buy that even though I still have the majority of those issues. I haven't read those stories in a long time and I figured this would be a easier way to re-read them rather than digging out all those issues out of storage.

Good news for Perez increases the likelihood of more good products coming our way. He showed a promo poster for his new Boom! book at Baltimore Comic-Con that looked really sweet.

Thanks for the info about Absolute Vision, Marvel Boy. Like you I have most of these issues, but I absolutely love collections--as you say, they're very handy!

That's great period in Avengers history, and is more or less when I started collecting them. Also great to hear good news about Perez's health.

They do always look tempting, but when I have bought the bigger collections I always regret it. They have fantastic contents but to me they are awkward to read.

I bought the New Teen Titans Omnibus, and while it looks gorgeous, one of the reasons I haven't gotten around to reading it yet is that it's freakin' huge. If I try to read it while laying in bed, it may very well crush my chest.

This one is ok, I bought it a few days ago and it's not that difficult to hold and read, unlike the FF by Byrne omnibus, which is a freaking 1200+ pages long.
