First Guardians of the Galaxy, now AA ---- man, its tough being a modern Marvelite, now I know why so many on these boards don't buy new comics. Now my pull-list is down to LOSH and Secret Avengers. At least until they are cancelled. ---Sorry to put up a boring, mopey post---but I'm really bummed about this cancellation. I hope the day doesn't come when there is NOTHING new on the racks worth buying.

That is sad news. AA was one of the few Avengers titles I liked over the last decade or so. Gage is so underrated as a writer, I loved his handling of the kids and their relationships. Of course, this is nothing new really, Marvel apparently has it in for any superhero teenager book they publish whether it be Avengers- or X-related.

Gage is, I believe, an excellent, perhaps even a Great writer. AA is about the only Marvel book I buy (the rebooted DD is another). It's a great shame AA is being cancelled, but I hope Gage will earn his wings and may get the main Avengers book in the future, which would be good. AA will be much missed though..

See, here's what's galling. SECRET AVENGERS is one of the only subscriptions I have left that's still playing out (haven't renewed anything in over a year). The enclosed backboard in the mailing sleeve is a big, ol' subscription solicitation. There aren't nearly as many titles available, believe me, as there were in happier eras. And the majority of the titles have either an X or an Avengers (or both) in them.
And Avengers Academy is proudly listed right there as an available title for subscribers. As slow as their process is, the book would no longer be available at all before a new subscriber received the first issue of their subscription. Then they'll automatically substitute a different title that they're "sure" you'll love just as much. This makes me insane-- it's a double-betrayal bait & switch.
aaargh!

I'd heard rumblings that this might be coming. Well, there goes the one and ONLY book I buy on a regular basis. Very sad
