And if not, well hey, I'm not too shy to provide a discrete opportunity right here!
Mostly because I was enjoying that little Marvel game-related tangent in the Animated Avengers thread-- but keeping up with it was kind of cumbersome. AND it may have been a bit of yawn-inducing clutter for folks not particularly interested in those pastimes.
Now mind you, I'm not a bigtime gamer at all. Kinda low on the time-use priority list, and there are whole large genres of games that bore me into an inertial stupor. But I am a sucker for many superhero games, no question. Just-- yeesh-- I have a heck of a time getting all the way through to the end of so many of them-! Mostly because my skill level seems to hit a permanent ceiling.
HOWEVER, I did finish fondly replaying X-MEN: LEGENDS just a few days ago, and if anything I enjoyed it more this time through! Paid MUCH closer attention to all of the power-up details and equipment distribution, and- who knew?- my whole campaign was vastly more successful. I've started Legends 2, and am enjoying it--- but it doesn't have quite the spark for me that the first one did. Can give further critique if other folks start chiming in, though. (Don't want to rattle on for my own benefit, of course-)

I really liked Marvel Ultimate alliance when it came out, and made several Avengers related Mods for it, which along with many other mods can be found here: marvelmods.com/forum/index.phpI also made lots of meshes and stuff for Freedom Force, and my stuff for that (and MUA) can be found here: tommyboymeshes.freedomforceforever.com/And my (not terribly good) Avengers Mod for FF is found here: www.freedomforceforever.com/graveyard/avengersspecialv3.htmHaving gotten the plugs out of the way, I never played XML2 all the way through. It seems a nice enough game, but a little too xmen-centric for me to play all the way through. I guess I'm just not a big enough xman fan. The game mechanics are fun, and I like that like MUA you can either play it "casually", or try to squeeze every last drop out by carefully selecting pickups/powers etc. One of these days I'll get around to finishing it. I have been playing the wholly free mmorpg Champions Online of late. For a free product it's surprisingly fun, and has a classic silver age feel to it. Not the best thing I've ever played, but certainly fun enough to crank up and waste a few hours on, here or there.

Having failed to find some new game to play at Amazon for some time now, I hijack the games thread looking for advice! (Yep, looking at you Bob ;D) Does anyone know a modern, good real-time gather resource and fight type of game? I'm looking for something in the Age of Empires / Age of Mythology type, with slightly more emphasis on the fighing part, for PC and definitely not online only. It would be perfect if it had a fantasy tinge to it too, but anything from historical to sci-fi would also do. I've played a few over the years and have been increasingly disappointed. I think the last I enjoyed was the first Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle-Earth, but since they have either been too easy/short or online only. Any advice, anyone?

I knew most of the team that made Age of Empires! The studio was in Dallas and everyone was laid off in--what was it? 2006?
I wish I could help you Shir--I don't even play my own games.

Have you tried the total war series? the latest one just got very good reviews although i can't remember many details. I used to enjoy the medieval one a few years back, it's not that similar to age of empires (which I preferred) but it's all i can really think of.
I've been more into Wii and Xbox games the last few years so i've lost touch with pc ones.

If you all knew which game company I'm currently working for, you'd probably laugh...

Thanks all the same guys, I'll keep on looking I loved those games! I was in high school when they came out, and over the years I bought all the sequels and expansions. The first one was pretty new and unique in its days. I played the Shogun Total War years ago, but wasn't too happy with it. Can't remember why though. Chances are I won't know it, but I'm curious now!

Chances are you will know it. Are you familiar with Cityville, Farmville, and Frontierville?

I don't play any of them, but I know Farmville. Or knew it, I've blocked its notifications on facebook ^^ It's something like the original Sim City was, isn't it? I always used to build these amazing cities and then unleash fires, floods, tornados, plane crashes and... Godzilla!

Hee hee! We're doing really well right now as a company. Something like 10% of America plays our games. When I tell people who I work for, I either get cursed out because of the incessant Facebook requests (as if it's my fault), or I get fawned over like I've cured cancer or something. It's very odd.
Fun Fact: If you play Frontierville, I was the guy who illustrated the glamorous "Manure Collection"--six individual piles of animal droppings. I am not kidding.
And people say my career is going nowhere...

Just rented the Captain America game.
Enjoying it so far but It's so close to Arkham Asylum it should be paying them royalties.
Same combat system, same upgrade system, the same 'tactical vision' that shows you all the usable objects (not sure if it's x-ray vision as it is in Batman as there hasn't been much stealth yet in Cap) same tap right trigger to take everyone down with batarangs.... um shields. Same stick twiddling to open locked doors, same shock baton grunts who you have to jump over and hit in the back. Platforming feels very similar as well but not as exciting as on AA
Overall its not quite as smooth to play as Arkham Asylum and nowhere near the atmosphere, you really get to thinking about how Batman would act in that game and it really punishes you for trying to slog your way through but Cap is still fun and miles better than most film tie ins.
it's obviously set in the film universe but it's got Baron's Zemo and Strucker, a robot Zola and Invaders villains like the Iron Cross
