I know #3 has been discussed a bit already, but i figured start a new thread. A review of Avengers Academy #3. <SPOILERS>
First, I really like Mckone's art. And the colors are very nice. McKone's Juggernaut is freakin' huge!
Gage's story is kind of clunky, but he throws in a ton of characters, stays true to their "voice", and it all works. So far his story is a bunch of un-original ideas (emerging powers put boyfriend in coma, "danger room" discussions, going into the prison/asylum full of crazies.........), but it's all very FUN, and i like it.
One side note: I must be the only one who just can't get into this new Thunderbolts team. Juggy, Man-thing, Crossbones, Moonstone....I don't get it. I DO like the Ghost, though.
Still, I can't wait for #4.....I just want some nice battles for Mckone to draw.

Yeah, the new Thunderbolts team is a bit bizarre at the moment, although the stories in their own book are not too bad.
I'm enjoying Academy so far, Quicksilver, Justice and Hank are what makes the book for me, and some of the students are fairly interesting. I can't see them becoming mainstays in the MU and I hope they don't try to suddenly turn them in characters who can take on experienced heroes, but they are a nice bunch. Looking forward for more.
