In my book, a leathery, rougher eye-patch would fit Odin better than a glitzy-looking one.

Anthony Hopkins! Wow! You can't get better than that.

Truly! I had in my mind pre-cast British actor Brian Blessed in the role of Odin (Caesar Augustus in "I, Claudius" and about a zillion other British films & teleplays), but he may be a bit to aged and, er, rotund at this point.
Nah-- Hopkins is aces, w/out a doubt. I thought he was quite good in "Wolfman" earlier this year--- a film that I think only my son & I liked. . .
I tell you, these superhero films are served well by pulling in jaw-dropping talent in the supporting roles the way they do. Poor ol' Christian Bale-- how daunting could it have been in "Batman Begins" to be shooting a scene w/ Liam Neeson. . . followed by Gary Oldman. . . followed by Michael Cain??? Academy awards &/or nominations layin' around all over the place. . .
