Who's the gorilla? The one from Agents of Atlas? And I hope that Hawkeye is Clint!

Pretty neat art and I read the article and some of the comments to go with it. Only real buzzkill is that Bendis is still going to be writing the Avengers book.
Bah.

I'm not exactly sure what "Heroic Age" means, other than being a kind of jingo-istic catchphrase, y'know? Is there any early intel on what exactly defines this next epoch? What distinguishes it from earlier "Heroic Ages" in Marvel's history. Man, I'm just so jaded by endless events and Next Big Things that I don't have a shred of optimism or kid-in-a-candy-shop anticipation left in me.
And if Bendis is still writing it, it means that the long-established characters we're ready to see again are still going to be effectively absent, with his re-imagined & "Bedis-ized" versions holding court. (Tell me that he won't at some point have Thor burst out with ". . . the Hell??". You KNOW it's going to happen. Oh, it's all so cool, hip, and trendy. . . )
A bit uncharacteristically cynical this evening-- HB

I was actually rather hopeful that this new turn might be the first major positive thing Marvel has had in years. However, since Bendis is writing it, I guess that means my association with Marvel is pretty much history. I am down to only 2-3 titles a month now, so without Avengers - there won't be anything left. I won't swear that I'll never break down and try it (Never say never) but I honestly no longer have any expectations of improvement. I just don't think Bendis is capable of writing anything that I want to read. My Avengers have been gone for a long time but I've felt more like they were just sleeping and would someday be back. Today, I am in mourning as I realize that they are probably gone forever.

And what else has me curious, among the points brought up by HB, is what about the other titles? While I would (hopefully) highly doubt that the characters in that art are all going to be Avengers, the question is what will happen with the characters in other books people might care for?
For instance, with The Initiative I've fully enjoyed Tigra getting some showcase, but now what? In Mighty we're going to have characters like USAgent, Herc (though he's got his own stuff goin), Quicksilver, Hank & Jocasta, etc. Don't even get me started on Young Avengers, either.
I guess until I know the status of characters in those comics, and the knowledge Bendis is going to continue on Avengers, I'm not going to be too impressed at first glance.
Though Clint back as Hawkeye would be a welcome celebration.

Who's the gorilla? The one from Agents of Atlas? Yes, it's Gorilla-Man...either that or Monsieur Mallah**** has crossed company lines! And I hope that Hawkeye is Clint! According to the info accessed via the link in Goldenfist's Announcement post: "The image also features Clint Barton in his old Hawkeye costume." I'm not exactly sure what "Heroic Age" means, other than being a kind of jingo-istic catchphrase, y'know? Is there any early intel on what exactly defines this next epoch? What distinguishes it from earlier "Heroic Ages" in Marvel's history. I just figured "Heroic Age" was meant to be ironic--though perhaps I'm giving tptb too much credit! ;D Man, I'm just so jaded by endless events and Next Big Things that I don't have a shred of optimism or kid-in-a-candy-shop anticipation left in me. I wonder if this "Heroic Age" will culminate in some sort of celebration in 2011 (the 50th anniversary of Marvel/Goodman's comics re-entry into the superhero genre). ****Suave Silver Age sapient simian supervillain and sworn enemy of the Doom Patrol--for more info, check out Wikipedia.

I'm trying not to be overly negative here because overall this is a pretty positive forum but . . . I'm down to just buying Mighty Avengers each month so April pretty much looks like the end of the line. I'm not a big fan of Bendis or the big "events" so unless something noticeably changes, I don't expect I'll be collecting comics again. (I came back after a long hiatus in 2004).

As usual, you are our own comics Wikipedia, Sharkar I think I will give Heroic Age a try, despite Bendis. His NA is still not my cup of tea, but I quite liked the first issue of Siege and I'm looking (relatively) forward to the others. But I'll be sorry to see MA and Initiative gone, I was really enjoying them both. Hopefully the replacements will be worth it.

Yeah, I just read scotharris' blog about HeroicAge, and it felt like a kick in the groin when i read that Bendis will be writing the Avengers revamp.
I totally agree with spiderwasp, and like Shiryu, will be sad to see Mighty and Initiative end.
With those two and Cap:Reborn and Kick-A$$ ending, I'm down to Guardians only. I'l probably wait for some reviews from fellow Assemblers, and some blogs I like to help me decide if I'm going to pick up the new book, but like humanbelly stated, you just KNOW BMB is gonna throw in some inappropriate dialogue that's gonna sound like fingernails down a blackboard when you read it. ughhhhhh..........
oh, I have started to pick up JLA (the main title) again, and it's pretty okay.
