ASSEMBLED! 2 has now officially been broken in half-- we are producing TWO books at once: ASSEMBLED! 2 (mostly about the "big three") and ASSEMBLED! 3 (about everyone else).
A2 is nearly done and should be out soon. A3 will be along in a few months.
If you contributed something originally intended for A2 and you don't find it in there-- never fear! It will be in A3.
We had to do this because A2 was going to be over 400 pages and was just out of control.
A2 will have the intro by Tom Brevoort.
A3 will have an intro by Jim Salicrup and the Kurt Busiek chapter in which he discusses his Avengers run.

Looks great, Van!
Any guesses on prices for these two volumes or potential release dates (in a perfect world, of course)?

I wanted to mention that I picked up BACK ISSUE this month for the Warlock coverage, totally forgetting that our own Karen wrote the main article! It was terrific! (And she mentioned Assembled 2 in her "about the author" blurb at the end, too!)
Way to go, Karen!
(I know Sharon had an article in an earlier issue and she deserves full kudos, too. I haven't had a chance to grab a copy of it, yet, though. )
Great job, you two.

Bearing in mind that I thought A2 would be out roughly one year ago... Optimistic release dates: ASSEMBLED! 2 -- end of August 2009 (just in time for DragonCon) ASSEMBLED! 3 -- hoping for Christmas 2009. If we miss that, early spring 2010. The price could be as much as $24.95, or $22.95, or remain $19.95. I won't know for sure until the book is complete and I can get with the printers.

I probably would never have submitted a proposal to Back Issue if I hadn't enjoyed writing those sections for Assembled 2 and 3. Thanks again for giving me the opportunity. Sharon's article in BI 32 actually made me take interest in costumes and fashion - no small task that! The wit she so often displays here on the AA boards is quite evident in that article as well!

Thanks, Van and Tan! ;D Tana's article is amazing...you'll learn everything you ever wanted wanted to know about Warlock. It is a must-read! And I too mentioned the forthcoming Assembled 2 in my BI bio blurb...everyone keeps asking me when it will be available and now I can give them a better idea!

Count another one in ;D I mentioned Assembled 2 in my biography in my book and in the blurb for a translation that should be appearing on the next issue of International Journal of Comic Art (although when I submitted it I didn't know the estimated release date for Assembled 2, so it still says 2007). PS Back Issue doesn't arrive at my local comics shop I will have to try in London next time I go.
