The old Superman episodes from 1941/42 are coming out on a new version of DVD. Unlike the Youtube videos, this is an official edition, and all the 17 episodes have apparently been restored to fix sound, titles and picture problems. They are already up on Amazon www.amazon.com/Max-Fleischers-Superman-1941-1942/dp/B001OD8E4GThe comments seem mostly good, but there seem to be some catches here and there.

To anyone who owns this... is it really significantly better than all of the editions that have already been released? I own a pretty decent quality 2 disc copy, but I'm willing to shell out $20 to upgrade if there's enough value there to justify it.
They ARE some of the best cartoons ever made, IMHO. The Fleishers were the best, with the one-two punch of Popeye and Superman, the two original superheroes! Plus BEtty Boop and a number of other amazing cartoons, like Gulliver's Travels. Genius!
