I was just wondering how much everyone else was looking forward to the Wolverine movie. For me, I'm not as excited as I usually am before a major superhero movie. It's not that I don't like Wolverine and I do like Hugh Jackman's take on the character but something is missing. I think it's because each X-Men movie added in new characters which gave me something to look forward to. This seems to be anticlimactic. We've already seen Wolverine on the big screen so... so what?
I'm glad the Avengers films are working the opposite way. By introducing each major character in their own film, they build the excitement toward the team movie.
Now, just for fun - I present you with your worst nightmare:
Ironman, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, and Ant-man aren't the only movies that are leading toward the Avengers film. The Wolverine and Spider-man films are too and they're both going to be in it. Now, try to sleep tonight with that thought in your head.

I just saw the trailer/commercial last night, and it looks great. And I rarely get excited enough to actually go to the theater, but I'll be seeing Watchmen and Wolverine at the theater. So i'm at least THAT excited about it (which is pretty good for me, I only go to 2 or 3 movies a year).
I like Hugh Jackman's portrayal, his acting has been dead-on. I was hoping for Clint Eastwood (hey, maybe he's holding out for "Old Man Logan"), but Hugh's done a good job so far, even though he's waaaaaaaay too tall.
I'm kind of disappointed by the re-casting of Sabretooth, I thought the first guy looked amazing. (I didn't like the lion's roar sound effect, though. What was up with that??) I guess the original Sabretooth didn't have the acting chops for the bigger role in WOLVERINE.
I thought the new HULK movie sucked, though, and I wouldn't be too upset if the Hulk had nothing to do with the AVENGERS movie. I'd actually rather see Spidey than the Hulk, if that would be possible. I don't see them mixing the X-men and Avengers franchises up too much, so hopefully Wolverine is not even an option.
If it ended up with Iron Man, Thor, Ant-man (and hopefully Wasp) finding the frozen Captain America, that would be the best scenario for me. and maybe a cameo by Spidey, Hulk, and the FF.

He may be the best at what he does, but what he does isn't making good movies.

I will gladly watch Mr. Jackman in anything...at any time...in any venue. It's been said before, but he would have been perfect as Wolvie's purported prototype, Timber Wolf.

The thing is, I really like Hugh Jackman. He's gone out of his way to thank the fans, and even the comics creators (he went into the audience at San Diego Comic Con and thanked Len Wein for creating Wolverine). He seems very sincere in his desire to "do Wolverine right". Unfortunately, despite his best efforts, this movie is a mess. It has gaping plot holes, cliched dialogue, and even the effects are uneven. Hopefully if a second Wolverine film is made, it will turn out better.

I've seen it too, and it stands nicely in the middle of my list of favorite Marvel movies. I didn't dislike it, but at the same time it never felt like something big was going to happen. There was little epic in the final battle, and the idea that Logan's memories were erased by a couple of bullets in the head was far-fetched.

Honestly, I liked it fine (as did my son). It certainly didn't rise to the level (for me) of, say, Spiderman 2 or Iron Man--- but it was FAAAAAR better than, oh, FF 2 or X-Men 3. A solid action film w/ an unusually nuanced, integrated performance (Jackman's) at its heart. I was a big admirer of Wolvie's back when he was first created, then became utterly sick of the sight of him when he was so hopelessly exploited and over-used and hyper-cliche'd by Marvel in the following decades. But I believe I like Hugh's interpretation of the character more than I've ever cared for the comic book's take. And it really does carry this film. Well, and the supporting cast steps up pretty nicely for the most part (although I thought Will I Am was kinda iffy. ). Mind you, I'm a pretty easy sell. I kind of liked Ghost Rider, for instance. And thought last summer's Hulk was just fine (although Liv Tyler as Betty Ross was far more than I could give in to. Cripes.).

Won't see it till it comes out on DVD but from the clips and reviews, the movie does look a little overcrowded with mutants. If you're looking for a good Wolverine story I'd recommend the Hulk vs. animated DVD. Although each story was more like a Thor story with the Hulk and a Wolverine origin movie with the Hulk added, they were good. Reminded me of the old Wolverine before he became manditory in every single freakin' Marvel comic in existance.

I liked it, but I was confused as to when he adopts the name "Logan" in the movie.
<SPOILER>
I never really liked Gambit or Deadpool, but Deadpool was pretty cool in this, although Gambit still sucked.
And the Blob was pretty cool, too. All in all entertaining, but just a jumble of ideas based on different origin stories.
