This is Chris Claremont writing the X-men, but starting up where Claremont's string of X-stories (Giant Size #1 thru X-men #3) ended in 1991. No 90's crossovers, No Morrisson, No Astonishing, No House of M, No leather costumes...... I'm intrigued by it, Claremont's mutant-writing definitely has not been matched since his tenure, IMO. How does everyone else feel about this? And if the Avengers franchise could do something similar, where would you propose the cut-off? I'd like to see a cut-off around the end of Byrne's run (#316-317), or maybe after Nicienza's Crossing Line (#324). Anything to erase CRYSTAL and RAGE from the ranks. C. #300 would be an obvious cut-off, but I liked alot of Byrne's adventures and team-up's. Hey, he got rid of Gilgamesh (yay!) but replace him with SERSI (boo!). And Acts of Vengeance was fun. As for West Coast Avengers-- @ #40, before Byrne whitens the Vision and drives Wanda nuts. But keep the Great Lakes Avengers, though.

I wouldn't want to lose my favorite Busiek era, so my cut off would be very recent, immediately after he left.
