This should excite me, but it doesn't. During/after Civil War, I got turned off from the Avengers for whatever reason. After collecting every back issue of Avengers and many related titles, I dropped New Avengers and never started with Mighty.
And this storyline just does not appeal to me. However it affects my current Marvel titles, fine, but I won't be getting this one.

I'll suffer through the Leinil (F) Yu art at $4 a pop, just because it ties into Avengers. Everybody looks like a Skrull when he's drawing.

I'll be buying this, but I won't be collecting the tie-ins. Can't afford 'em this time.

Other message boards are saying that DC's Final Crisis will outsell Secret Invasion.

Here's hoping it does. Here we have yet another Bendis the universe changes story lines.
I wonder if it will be 7 issues of build up, for the let down of the century, much like some of his other stuff.
On another note, I finally promised myself, that if I don't like the direction that the Avengers books are going after SI I am droping them.

Interesting. The "gods" on the second variant cover. Hercules, Juggernaut/Cytorrak, Snowbird (I think that's her name), and, uh, two other guys.
I really think that Vision looks particularly awesome in that second cover.
I'm really looking forward to this crossover.

One thing I think that's important to note is that Bendis doesn't write traditional super-hero type tales. Baring this in mind might help your enjoyment of "Secret Invasion." For example, a lot of people cite "House of M" being anti-climatic. However, that's because the climatic battle of the story occured in issue 7, while issue 8 dealt with the aftermath. Read as whole, it makes a lot of sense -- which is typical of Bendis. He writes his stories as though they're one big story.

Here's an article from ign.com it's talks about Hawkeye and Wolverine are they Skrulls. The possibilities for Secret Invasion to remake the Marvel Universe are endless. Though Brian Bendis has publicly stated that the 2008 event won't undo major events in the Marvel Universe, and that Captain America and Iron Man are off the table (so as to not disturb Civil War's impact), most other characters are definitely ripe for Skrull replacement. Fans have seen clues and reveals in various titles over the last few months (we'll avoid listing them due to spoilers). More are likely on the way. But the publisher couldn't help but fan the flames a little. While we were en route to WonderCon, Marvel released two teaser images without any additional information. We have them below to get the speculation started. As a side note, IGN will be the best online resource for information and exclusive regarding what is likely Marvel's biggest 2008 story. We've already lifted the curtain on "Secret Invasion: Revelations" - a monthly feature that not only unveils covers for Invasion and its related titles, but also gets exclusive interviews with the editors and creators (Bendis!) behind this massive storyline. You can find links to the first two installments below the images. Let's get the gossip started, shall we? If you think about it, both of these characters have had very chaotic lives over the past couple years. In fact Hawkeye died during Brian Bendis's "Avengers: Disassembled" arc. Bendis has indicated that his planning for Invasion began with New Avengers #1, which followed directly out of "Disassembled." Could Hawkeye have been the first character to become green in this grand scheme? Wolverine was involved with Elektra in Mark Millar's massive Enemy of the State storyline, and that seems to be when the Skrulls managed to replace her as the leader of the Hand... did they snag Logan as well? Stay tuned... media.comics.ign.com/media/962/962808/img_5301318.htmlmedia.comics.ign.com/media/962/962808/img_5301315.html
