Well, to be honest Doc Doom, the Sentry has done a number of somethings.
It's just usually not involving fighting at all. Or people not remembering him fighting.
But still . . . I love the Sentry because he's so uber-powerful, yet so messed up and (dare I say it) lazy.

I don't like the retcon of the entire MU inherent in his origin, and I especially don't like that his writers have tried so hard to tell me that he is an important character when as you've clearly stated -- he doesn't do anything! My care-o-meter just always registers in the negative for this guy...

I'm really on the fence about him, to be honest. I don't mind the retcon origin, simply because I find it rather interesting and adds to his character. I love that he can just show up, be all like "I'm super-powerful!" and then the person he's with is simply "Who are you?"
But that character has been presented as rather bland and whiny. I was quite happy with him being left in limbo after his first mini-series. I really want to see someone do something good with him. Bendis did a little bit in MA, but not a whole lot. Jenkins has done a better job, but the character still isn't that likeable.
But hey, maybe it'll turn around at some point. Greg Pak is a great writer and does a good job with characters like him. Maybe WWH is where it's at.

It's hard for me to care about the Sentry. I doubt I'd notice if Marvel retconned him back out of continuity.
Maybe they could have two 800 numbers, where readers could vote on whether he should live or die...

But before hand, there would be a teenaged clone of the Sentry, an armored Sentry-type guy, a cyborg Sentry, and an uber-powerful Sentry. ~W~

W, I just noticed from your updated location tag that I'll be in your neck of the woods next week. Family vacation to Cleveland -- Indians/Red Sox game, Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame, and Pro Football Hall of Fame!

Are you coming down for the Pro Football Hall of Fame festival?

Our family takes vacations around major league ballparks. We've only ventured out of the midwest once (saw the Nationals on a trip to Washington two years ago), but "locally" we've been to Wrigley, US Cellular (both Chicago), County Stadium and Miller Park (both Milwaukee), Kaufmann Stadium (KC), Busch Stadium (old, St. Louis -- haven't been to the new one yet), and Cinergy Field (Cincinnati -- haven't been to the Great American Ballpark yet). So yes, we are vacationing in Ohio! ;D

That's really cool!
Hey, if you end up in North Canton, pop by Acme Fresh Market and look for the guy with glasses and a nametag that says "Kevin." That'll be me! ;D

dlw, I went to a couple of Indians games last year and Jacob's Field is a gorgeous ballpark... it's spacious, with comfortable seats, great sightlines, high tech scoreboard, great food...you and your family will have a blast! Try to pick up a Pronk bar or two (W's store probably carries it ... that's Travis Hafner's candy bar.

Years ago I visited Ohio, for the same reasons dlw66 is doing so. I even saw the original "Ernest Angley" headquarters when it was located in, I think, Akron. Visited Cleveland (the Indians played in the Mistake by the Lake then) and Canton (Football hall of fame) and drove by where my mother was born in Columbus. Good trip.

Sentry is a joke. prolly beat Galactus arm wrestling. i would be more than happy to find that his is just a delusion of the marvel universe and is later removed and retconned into oblivion

Man I always see alot of Sentry haters on message boards.
I know alot of people wanted Thor to fight Hulk in the last issue of WWH #5 but Thor want's nothing to do with Tony Stark.

Once again we see Marvel trying to push the Sentry as the poor man's Thor.

How many characters do you know that Marvel has tried to push to be like Thor.

Even though Thor wants nothing to do with Tony, I am surprised they didn't bring him in. Although I think the timeline is skewed with Tony appearing in Thor for his butt-whipping. Thor might be a little behind WWH. But if Thor is or was present, he has a long-standing power rivalry with the Hulk and a disposition towards protecting humanity. I think it would be a good match to watch The current Hulk vs. the no holds barred Thor

Did the Hulk ever grab Thor's hammer at one time.
