I would say that's clever, Nutty but it's simply the OPPOSITE of true.
Marvel have killed, I'd wager, a tenth of the characters in civil war as infinite crisis. And even other than that, they're still keeping a fairly low kill rate which is DRAMATICALLY low when compared to DC's.

Think about house of M,.. you get rid of all those mutant powers,.. it made it easirer to handle mutants for the writers,.. also fewer reedundant powers. CW,... I think they'll use that to sweep several more C and D level character into hiding in other countries, burning their masks,.. whatever I'm not saying it's a bad thing. All those characters out there you begin to wonder how there are any normal people left on the planet. If done well and thoughtfully enough a culling wouldn't be bad.

Understand. I thought you were complaining that Marvel slaughter everyone which is patently untrue.

DC has a lot more characters than Marvel does, so they can afford to kill more of them. Many of them are fairly marginal concepts, too. Marvel has gone on killing sprees in the past (Scourge) - every so often its necessary to clear the deadwood. I even did it myself in a Villains and Vigilantes (very early superhero roleplaying) campaign I ran - at one point some started murdering superheroes. It was really about me sweeping out the stable, but there was a plot related reason for it...

HOLY MOSES
V and V, I had forgotten that one. It was a true classic.
