okay, I don't know any of this to be facts, but it seems obvious that Iron Man's pro-reg side wins the Civil War. why? 1) future solicitations show She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel and others working for the pro-reggers after the release date of Civil War #7, 2) most shocking of all is the dispearence of Captain America. no April solicitation for his book, Iron Man yes, Cap, no. Marvel always said that there would be a clear cut winner. "to the winner goes the spoils." 3) but most shocking of all is that I think they are going to "kill" Captain America. Marvel has been hinting that a beloved mainstay is going to take the eternal dirt nap, who could it be... it has to be a death that tops the unmasking of Spider-Man, because Joe Q promised something more shocking (and I was shocked!), also take into account Civil War titles such as "Fallen Son" 4) and this is neither here nor there, but I was looking at the US Agent shown on the cover of April's Omega Flight and wondering if maybe that is really the Captain?
thoughts? ideas?

That absence of the solicitation does look ominous. I think they might "kill" him for a short time, but Cap is too much of a property for Marvel to stay dead. Imagine if you were a company making lunchboxes or some such thing and you were paying big money to marvel to put Cap on your lunchboxes. I'd be pretty p***ed. And BTW isn't Brubaker's run selling pretty well?

Joe Q did say that he had big plans for Cap that would have both the comic media and the mainstream media buzzing.

Cap won't die. Firstly, his own bnook continues- the absence of a solicit means NOTHING- Brubaker said VERY recently that he has the whole thing planned up to issue 50, and that starting with issue 25, the newest Cap arc is his most radical and mind-blowing yet. (This from the guy who brought back Bucky and has been hailed by many as the best Cap writer ever)
Secondly, he's in "Civil War: Fallen SOn"
Thirdly, Millar said not to buy this looking for character deaths who'll be back in six months anyway and SPECIFICALLY cited Cap as an example.
Cap won't die, I can guarantee it.

I'm starting to suspect that Cap fakes his own death, freaking out the whole world, and re-emerges as Ronin (secretly)... Tony Stark ends up as head of SHIELD... the Winter Soldier takes over Cap's role (and maybe identity) (I'm shaky on that one, as I haven't finished reading the CAP trades yet)... hmmm, what else...?
If "The Return" is "just" Thor and not Mar-Vell, I'll feel pretty underwhelmed, since we already know for sure that Thor is coming back...
I was sure Clint Barton would become Ronin, since he's back now but his name (Hawkeye) has been given to another character (Kate Bishop). It just made sense. But now I think the argument for it being Cap is stronger.
And who's said Cap is in "Fallen Son?" Of the four that have been talked about, one was Wolverine, one was Avengers vs Avengers, one was Iron Man, and one was Spidey. The fifth one is a secret because it's a "give-away" of the answers.

Whether that means that someone else is in the suit or some other such semantic dodge is unknowable now. I think substituted Iron Man for Cap in your thinking. RSC

The fifth one is a secret because it's a "give-away" of the answers. yeah, it all seems to obvious. I see that Captain America #25 IS coming out in a couple months (where's cap during this time?) hate to go on record as saying this, but I feel that a lot of the current rumors going around will play out: Cap fakes his death, leaving Iron Man "triumphant", setting into motion a course of events, events like Spider-Man starting out as the Marvel U's most wanted (seen that before!) but as time progresses (real time) more and more Marvel charecters (such as She-Hulk) start to follow Spider-Man's ideaology turning him from most wanted into role model. and the Return? why couldn't it be Hawkeye. makes sense, we just seen him and his powers and motus-operandi is the kind of stuff Bendis likes. but, who knows. I'm waiting for the big ending like all of you all, and I have been wrong before... peace!
