Non-Spoiler: Great issue. Back on track after last issues lackluster story.
SPOILER SPACE! SPOILERS BELOW!
The ending was brillant. It really goes to show that no matter how smart Iron Man is, Captain America is a true stratigest.
The scenes where the new heroes are being trained is really cool.
Plus, Spider-Man's back in his classics. It feels like the whole reason they put him in that new costume was to make it feel good when they put him in the old one.
Best scene, though? Captain America punching out the Punisher! I geeked out when that happened!
A few things did bother me, though. There seems to be a bit of a contradiction between Civil War: Frontline and Civil War itself (which, as I had read, were going to be the two stories tied together the most), mostly on the part of Namor. There's also one with "Punisher War Journal" # 2 as well, but I'll be addressing that in the Read Order thread.

SPOILER SPOILER
Just read the issue and overall I enjoyed it, even though it was somewhat uneventful at times, mainly in the first half (which, however, helped to show that the Pro Reg side is not that bad and their system might be working). I was really hoping to see the real Thor back too in this one, so I was disappointed it didn't happen (and it probably won't happen in CW7 either, since everybody is in the negative zone by now). Having Spidey back in his old costume was nice, and the best part for me was Cap out-smarting Tony and Reed when it regarded strategy. Cap kicking the Punisher out was kind of expected, but this makes me wonder why to took him in to begin with, since he perfectly knew his ways. Almost looks like as if the Punisher was just a "deus ex" to let the heroes in 42. Anyway, when is issue 7 supposed to come out now ?

#7 is supposed to be on January 31st but we'll havr an "update" on Tuesday. (Read: It WILL be delayed.)
GReat issue. One of the best- 4 was disappointing and 5 was good but predictable- THIS is why I love reading Millar comics, you never know what will happen next. Seeing Cap 1 up Iron Man was definitely a brilliant touch after last time. My only regret; god-dammit, imagine if Doc Strange and the X-Men HAD been with Cap. What a throwdown it would have been- though mind you, I have no doubt that we'll see them next issue.
Two other counts I'm disappointed on- not this issue, the series as a whole. Still no Thor. And no Doctor Doom. God dammit, the Doctor is passing over one of the best oppurtunities he will EVER have to take down Reed Richards! But I understand why Doc Doom had to be left out.
That double page splash has to be my favourite double-page splash in a loooooong time. Can we have the cover of #7 now please?

When did the disguised Hulkling have time to slip away and free all of the prisoners?

Spoiler
Gotta agree with the majority here. This was a good issue. Was there some other tie in where we saw Tigra infiltrating Cap's group? I know she was lurking last issue but this issue she was in. I loved the look on her face when she realized Cap was already on to her and the use of Hulkling was brilliant. I sure didn't see that coming.

I guess I am the voice of dissent here. This issue felt rushed to me, like they realized the series is wrapping up and tried to cram too many plot points into one issue. The supposed 'big reveals', Tigra and Yellowjacket/Hulkling, didn't really have an impact. Tigra hasn't been a major player in CW. We initially saw her on the Pro side, then last issue saw her skulking around the Anti side, so it was no surprise she was a spy. The Yellowjacket thing would have had a huge impact if it had really been Pym; as it is, somehow Hulkling's hybrid Kree/Skrull physiology was able to fool the most sophisticated security devices of Stark and Richards?!Oh come on.
I was also disturbed by Cap's brutal beating of Punisher. We really do seem to have Ultimate Cap here. I don't mind the tougher minded Cap that Brubaker has given us in his own title, but the CW Cap has stepped over the line a few times.
That said, I did find the preview of the Initiative somewhat interesting.
All in all, I feel like CW has just dragged on too long. Sure, there have been delays, but in general it seems as if they have tried to stretch this out further than is natural. And of course, we have a bunch of 'follow up' books coming too. It's a shame, I was initially very excited by the book.

I was really hoping that the spy was the real Pym. I mean, that could have pushed him back up to the top of the Marvel Universe. Was there even a teaser about the Hulkling? So Pym just got beat up and had his identity stolen?
Another solid step for Hank Pym.

For me, the main CIVIL WAR title has become the ultimate case of "telling and not showing." We are told things, rather than getting any sense of dramatic build-up.
For example, we get a reveal that one character is a traitor to his or her side. No big tension, no build-up, no wondering and fear and consternation. Just-- "They're working for us." "Gasp." Yawn.

With all due respect... If the most "brilliant" moment of this "event," after all the hype and buildup and irreversible damage to several key Marvel heroes... is that one side used a shapeshifter to fool the other...
...eeeeyarghh.

No the brilliant moment is going to be how Tony is basically Dick Cheney/Hallibutron since he has money interests in the registration act... then of course everything can go back to the way it was... Wake me up when the new Tony Doppleganger gets here, will ya? They may need to get a pre-teen one this time.

Iron Man could be the HalliUltron... They could always get the Iron Baby from the X-Babies corner of the MU...
