Does anyone else find the similarities between the "evils" of Civil War and the Ultimate Universe interesting?
In Civil War, heroes are fighting to prevent the government from controlling and regulating super-heroes. This is what happens in the Ultimate Universe.
In Civil War, heroes are forced to register with the government and act as agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. In the Ultimate Universe, Spider-Man will become property of S.H.I.E.L.D. at age 18. The FF are funded by the government.
In Civil War, the heroes are being given assignments by S.H.I.E.L.D., such as Wonder Man's assignment to investigate "Pop". In the Ultimate Universe, Nick Fury heads the Ultimates and gives them their assignments. Also, Fury hires Wolverine to eliminate the Hulk for S.H.I.E.L.D.
It seems to be that Civil War is about the 616 Universe attempting to stop itself from becoming "Ultimized".
