Can't imagine it'll be as good as JL or JLU.

Man, I can't wait for this! It seems like a true celebration of a comic that is among my favorite DC stories. I never got around to seeing "Doomsday" and I lost interest in JLU, but I am so on board for this!

I loved JLU (except for season 3), but I suppose it's time to move forward. Hopefully, this will live up to its predecessor. David Boreanaz as Green Lantern sounds good, I like his tone of voice.
EDIT: fixed a typo

What was wrong with season 3 of JLU? Yes, it lost it's focus but there were some great episodes in there (Flash and Substance, for example) and the finale was pretty awesome.

Oh man this looks like it is so going to kick ass. My wife will love that David Boreanaz is Green Lantern.

The finale was the time travelling, right?
Anyway, there was too little of the core 7 and too much of the other guys for me. Green Arrow was almost there more than Superman and a lot of heroes only had 1 spotlight episode (the main exceptions being Green Arrow, Black Canary, Huntress and Supergirl from what I can remember now). Since I hardly know about these characters, I found 1 episode to be too little to care for them, so I got bored quickly.
Still there were some episodes I liked, for example the one for Superman's birthday, or the one with Batman, WW, Superman and Green Lantern turned into kids (I think these 2 are both from S3, I watched the 5 seasons in a single run from dvds). The one with Diana turned into a pig was funny too, and the one with the nanotec robots was well written.

Aaah, see there was confusion there. I thout you meant the third season of *just Unlimited* as opposed to the third season of JL, which was the FIRST season of Unlimited. IE: I thought you meant the very last season, with the Legion of Doom arc.
No, in that case I agree with you, JLU's first/JL's third season was definitely the worst in the set. Season 4 was the best IMO, due to the Cadmus arc seeming so incredibly laid out and natural.

I see... for me there is just 1 series with 5 seasons, hence the confusion. Season 5 was great, I loved the finale, and season 4 managed to build perfectly to the climax as well.

We saw this last night - very enjoyable! The art style took a few minutes to get used to, but it's actually perfect for the story being told. The story was entertaining and the voice acting was very good. I haven't read New Frontiers (I keep meaning to buy it...) so I don't know how closely the movie follows the story. I love the time period they set this in (the 50s-early 60s), with all the Cold War hysteria. It reminded me of a cross between a classic 50s sci fi movie and the Right Stuff.
There are also a number of special features. We watched two of them, the one on villains and another on Batman: Gotham Knights. I was not very interested in the Batman one, as it was about the next DVD DC will put out - Batman done by anime artists. But the villains feature was interesting and had DC creative people providing their thoughts on what makes a villain, the characteristics of different villains, etc. Oh, and two gentlemen known primarily for their Marvel work also show up briefly! We didn't get to the other features yet.
All in all, I would highly recommend this movie.

I bought the DVD from Amazon.com and watched it today. I really liked it! I haven't gotten around to reading the graphic novel, but assume this is pretty true to it. Like Tana said, this has all of the 1950's goodness you'd expect -- sci-fi, monsters, a little romance... I would say J'onn and Hal Jordan are the main characters. Batman has some typical Batman-moments -- I never did get used to a voice actor for him different from his television animated series. The Superman actor was close enough that I thought his character was pretty seamless. J'onn is done very well, as is Flash. Also as Tana said, the extras are good. I watched the history of the Justice League feature (it's about 42 minutes long!!) and thoroughly enjoyed it! Silver Age lovers like Sharkar, Hourman, and Starfoxxx will love it, too! And, I learned something -- I've been mispronouncing Len Wein's name for 35 years! It's not "Wine", it's "Ween". Hmmph! I did not find the Villains feature, but I bought the single-disc version -- perhaps I didn't look through all of the extra features, or maybe Tana had one of the 2-disc versions. And, to agree with Tana one more time ( , Iwould also highly recommend this movie!!

Sorry Doug - I didn't realize there were different versions of the movie available. We have the two disc set which apparently has a few more documentaries, as well as some Justice League Unlimited episodes. But I loved the JLA doc. It was very informative for me, as I have always been more of a Marvel fan, and have some very limited runs of JLA.

There are actually 3 versions -- single-disc, two-disc, and Hi-Def Blu-Ray (not sure if the latter has even more goodies on it!).

You, know I was really looking forward to this and after watching it, it was ok. Not what I hoped for, but then, never really reading DC, I don't know what I was hoping for. Weird.

I LOVE the graphic novel, and I felt like the movie was also very good. It cut out a lot of the best stuff from the novel, but the stuff that they replaced it with made the movie funin its own way. By focusing on the superheroes it became a very different story, but I didn't think it was either inferior or superior. It was very entertaining.
I actually like Batman's role better in the movie than in the novel. High recommendation.

Well, it was in the Redbox, so I spent my $1 and figured I could check it out with my nephew. Well, I never got around to watching it with him, and it's a good thing---this cartoon is definitely too mature for little kids..... but dlw66 was right....this BIG kid loved it. And the extra feature (I only watch these on comic-related DVDs) was exceptional. It was cool to see the faces who have created the history of the JSA/JLA, and hear their stories. Well worth my $1, and I'll be on the hunt to find a cheap copy of this.

I felt that there were several sequences that may have been an homage to Wood...maybe just wishful thinking. Although it was a bit too much, I appreciate the part where blood delineated the cockpit of WW's invisible plane.
