Well, we know they are supposedly beginning to create an Avengers movie. Whether it actually happens is of course another matter, but supposing for a moment they do create an Avengers trilogy...
What should they be called?
Myself while i'd BET the first one would be called 'The Avengers', I'd love it if it were called 'Avengers Assemble', or even 'The Avengers: There came a day....'
Following on that, I would love for another to be called ' Earth's Mightiest Heroes' and I honestly have no idea for another name.
So what do you guys think- should it just be 'The Avengers', 'The Avengers 2', etc, like Spider-Man? Should they go the X-Men path and have it be 'The Avengers 2: <insert Name>? Or should each movie have a distinct title? If so, what should the titles be?
I'd be very interested to hear some opinions.

For the first one I'd like something like "The Avengers are born", "The day of the Avengers" or, as you suggested, "The Avengers - And there came a day...".
In short, something dramatic ;D

The first movie would almost certainly be called "THE AVENGERS." As we've seen so far, they like the movies to have very basic, simple, non-confusing titles. In fact, the only thing that might interfere with that would be the Uma Thurman movie of the same name, based on the old British show. The fact that those two properties share the same name has always been annoying to me, especially with regard to searching for Avengers stuff on the Web. The second-- just a guess-- would be THE AVENGERS 2, and then some kind of very short, simple subtitle (Like "X-Men United"). (In fact, I'm shocked at the very length of the second FF movie's subtitle. I'll bet they change it before release, to something snappier, shorter.) It will depend on who the villain is. And probably the same with 3. (Assuming there are a 2 and 3. Heck, assuming there's a 1.) How I would love, "AVENGERS 2: THE KANG DYNASTY" or "AVENGERS 2: ULTRON UNLIMITED" (not necessarily those exact comics stories, but those cool titles and villains.) I wouldn't be surprised if they put "Earth's Mightiest Heroes" as a sort of unofficial subtitle for at least the first one. That would help differentiate it from the British movie, but wouldn't have to go on the marquee of the theaters. Wasn't X-MEN 2 basically advertised as "X-MEN 2: X-MEN UNITED" but just called X-2 when it came out? And didn't it have an even longer subtitle a bit before its release? (And, speaking of the next FF movie, I have to say I am NOT looking forward to a dumbed-down charicature of Galactus, which he will have to be, in a movie of this nature...)

One more factor to consider in thinking of the titles of all upcoming Marvel movies:
Marvel has control of the films now, not SONY or whomever. So the titles might start being closer to the comics, and less like "movie" titles (like X2, which was very much a "movie" title, not a "comics" title, I'd say).

I love all these ideas. Funnilly enough, Ultron Unlimited and The Kang Dynasty are two stories I would absoloutely LOVE to see converted to movie form Seriously though, I still find titles such as those unlikely because the general audience would have no idea what a Kang or an Ultron was. Whereas even the Silver Surfer is known to a small degree. And yes, I too was thinking of the television show, which was why I was wondering if we'd get an 'Avengers Assemble' PS: Speaking of which, what does everybody think of the catcphrase being roared in the movie? Myself I'd love it- wouldn't be Avengers without it, but many people say it's too cheesy.

I'm looking forward to Thor shouting "Avengers Assemble !", even if it is at the very end of the film. It's like Spidey's "with great power...", IMO it has to be said.
PS, just occurred to me: did Marvel actually say that, in the Avengers movie, we will have Thor, Iron Man and possibly Cap ? After all, the X-Men movie had a new line up, with Wolverine joining apparently long after Storm and before the Beast or Angel (if Angel ever joined in the end).

Omigod--I just read on another forum that the Avengers in the movie will be Wolverine, Spiderman, Doctor Druid, Reed Richards and Gilgamesh.
I'm lying.

Maybe you are... maybe you aren't...!!! Perhaps you've just tapped into your heretofore unknown divination powers... Let us hope not, for all our sakes...!!!

But since there have been a lot of Avengers over the years, it's possible due to the vagaries of Hollywood, we might end up with some choices we don't like. personally, I'd like to see a more classic team, with Thor, Iron Man, Cap, and some combination of Hawkeye, Wanda, Quicksilver, Wasp and Ant Man or Giant Man. Maybe #2 could be the intro of the Vision.

"Avengers Assemble" has to be in the script somewhere.
The Mighty Avengers would suffice as a title for me, followed by the A2 sequel -- Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
