I cannot believe in my absense no one else has put this up for review.
Most of you know how much I was despising all of the minis that Marvel has been churning out (silent war,...uuuuuhhhhhggggghhhhhh)
I was looking toward requiem with apprehension, I really was.
I have never been so glad to have been so wrong. Requiem rocked on so many levels. The artwork was exactly that, artwork. Usualyy when a book goes to bog artsy splashes the story gets lost but not here. The story was just as stron as everything else.
This was a great storyline about one of my favorite characters and if you haven't read it,... for shame.
The only thing that they missed, and this isn't an effort to console my poor brother Doomsie, but they should have had Doom in there as well. He was a factor in the Surfer earthly existence and should have been there at the end.
I give the entire run

I haven't heard one bad word about Requiem, and for good reason.
I almost wish I had waited and bought the collection rather than the individual issues... almost... otherwise, i would have had to wait to read this incredibly written and artfully created book.
So amazing... the art is beautiful. The writing is "spot-on" to the subject matter. I swear I had a lump in my throat a few times.

Tone, you nailed it, there were soooo many times when I was reading and had to pull back from the book and just say "d**n".
It was really a good story

This may be the best miniseries I have read in a very, very, very, very, very long time.
Heartbreaking, incredible, more a piece of prose than a comic, to my mind it ranks with Death of Captain Marvel in terms ofpotency. That's just how good it is- the best ting JMS has ever written. And SO underappreciated.

This may be the best miniseries I have read in a very, very, very, very, very long time. and you may remember from some other threads before I went off a-wanderin' that I have not been a fan of the mini-series productions from marvel. This one just blew the roof right off. What you said about under-appreciated rang a note with me. I'm almost glad Marvel didn't push this one too hard. If they had played it up like some of the other stuff thay have going on, it might not have got the team it had. The creative staff assigned to this book really should win awards.

The team are both very high profile, A-list creators. It would have got the team, the only thing that would have happened if Marvel had hyped it more is that more people could have experienced it.
